Not the fast paced actioner many trailers lead people to believe, this is a slow burning, sci-fi masterpiece from Ridely Scott. The film benefits greatly from losing Ford's awkward sounding narration and thankfully leaves the viewer to follow the story themselves. This cut also looks stunning, at last restored frame-by-frame for DVD, and makes the cinematography and style of the film even more pleasurable. Praise should also go the extras on the second disc, providing a complete and seemingly unbiased view of the production and following success of the film.
I don't see what all the hype is about

I watched this film with very high expectations after reading loads of great reviews and listening to the opinions of my friends...and I was sorry I did. This film has beautiful cinematography- I'll give it that. But it was so hyped up that the plot and pace of the film as a whole really let me down. I was expecting something amazing- but in reality this modern sci-fi film is just worth seeing once, if that. Harrison Ford's acting is great as ever, but the overall feel I got was bored and waiting for something to happen. Check out The Island or even (dare I say), I Am Legend if you want to get a better sci-fi thriller film.

The removal of Deckard's voiceover - which gave the original the feel of a 40's detective movie - and the happy ending with which fans are familiar, totally ruined my enjoyment of this movie; it's no longer the same film that I've loved since I first saw it in 1981.
The addition of the unicorn sequence was pointless and added nothing to the story.
I feel like I've wasted my money on this one, as it's very unlikely I'll ever bother to watch it again. Looks like I'll have to dig out my old VHS of the original movie. At least I'll enjoy watching it, even if the picture quality isn't as sharp as DVD.
I can't recommend this version of the movie to anyone who loves the original cut. 3/10.
For me when they released the Directors cut I felt that it ruined what was a fantastic film. all they done for the Directors was to remove the voice over and happy ending and added a unicorn, but for the final cut they have kept what was in the DC version but tidied up the editing, so those bits where Deckard was doing his voice over part isn't drawn out but now slightly shorter. all the editing is much better and makes the Final cut more enjoyable to watch, I still think the international version is still the best version, my advice is buy the Box set instead and find out what version you prefer.
All Time Classic Sci-Fi

This has to be one of the best sci-fi films your ever going to see. The casting was excellent and the sets are fantastic making the whole movie so believable. Definitely in the top5 along with another great film I recommend DUNE (also starring Sean Young by the way).
Buy it. Watch it. You won't be disappointed.

Great film which I watched when it first came out but the Final Cut version, in my mind, completely spoilt the ending by cutting off the original happy ending and leaving it in the air.
Amazing film in all respects but...

I've always classed this film as my all time best Sci Fi, for such an inciteful look into the NOW not so distant future. Ridley Scott's outstanding cinematography and use of FX available at the time still challenges more modern heavy CGI reliant films. The only reason I give this a 4 star instead of 5 star rating is that I think that the Directors Cut version gives better clues and suggestions as to the "Unicorn" analogy. The remastering brings out more detail of the beautiful sets/scenery. Classic!!!
Surely, one of the best films ever made?

Top 10 DVD Reviewer
The film feels fairly slow paced, giving you plenty of time to soak up the brilliant and haunting 40's style atmosphere Ridley Scott creates for future LA. And that's what stands this film apart; it paints a complete picture of the future that is frighteningly plausible. The Final Cut is a great version of what is surely one of the best films ever made.
awesome!
