I watched it because Reese is in it, and I'm telling you, if that's your reason for going to see it, you might be disappointed. She's great, but doesn't have more than about 10 mins of screen time, which is annoying.. However, she looks amazing (and I'm a girl saying this, btw).. Movie as such was too political for my taste.. I don't know, I just didn't like it that much, sorry.
INTRIGUING

If only I could understand the Arabic language, then maybe I would have been risky enough to give it 4 stars.
Witherspoon looked out of place, Streep was her usual excellent menace, Jake was lost at times, I think that it needed a seasoned professional playing Jake's part to give it a bit of bite, Alan Arkin was as if he had been acting for years, he never could act in his younger days, maybe all those years have not been wasted.
Story was not surprising as I am sure that many a person goes walkabout when the authority get their mitts on you.
Would not buy the DVD when it is released as it was a run-of-the-mill skullduggery stuff.
A SMART, INTELLIGENT THRILLER THATS FULL OF INTRIGUE!

What if someone you love just disappeared?
Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon head up a all star cast in the outstanding multi-stranded story. The the main branch of the story deals with the disapperance of Wheese Witherspoons Egyptian born husband, only to find out that he faces terrorism charges and is being interigated by the C.I.A in a undisclosed location, facing beatings and torture until the C.I.A get the infomation they want to hear. But is the man innocent?
But the film also deals with the many other issues of these turbulant times.
The film also boasts a brilliant twist at the end of the film.
The film is very well written and the addition of Meryl Streep and Alan Arkin add even more class to one of the most intelligent thrillers of the past year.
An excellent thought provoking thriller, that's well worth buying!
