What follows is a mixture of three semi-separate story lines. One telling of the events in the city where the act of terror occurred, one telling the story of the wife of the arrested guy and one telling the tale from the side of another secret agent. As a film it works. Flawlessly. Every single person playing it plays his/her role forcefully and adequately and its complete story works like a well designed thriller.

I watched it because Reese is in it, and I'm telling you, if that's your reason for going to see it, you might be disappointed. She's great, but doesn't have more than about 10 mins of screen time, which is annoying.. However, she looks amazing (and I'm a girl saying this, btw).. Movie as such was too political for my taste.. I don't know, I just didn't like it that much, sorry.

If only I could understand the Arabic language, then maybe I would have been risky enough to give it 4 stars.

Witherspoon looked out of place, Streep was her usual excellent menace, Jake was lost at times, I think that it needed a seasoned professional playing Jake's part to give it a bit of bite, Alan Arkin was as if he had been acting for years, he never could act in his younger days, maybe all those years have not been wasted.

Story was not surprising as I am sure that many a person goes walkabout when the authority get their mitts on you.

Would not buy the DVD when it is released as it was a run-of-the-mill skullduggery stuff.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars A SMART, INTELLIGENT THRILLER THATS FULL OF INTRIGUE!

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

What if someone you love just disappeared?
Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon head up a all star cast in the outstanding multi-stranded story. The the main branch of the story deals with the disapperance of Wheese Witherspoons Egyptian born husband, only to find out that he faces terrorism charges and is being interigated by the C.I.A in a undisclosed location, facing beatings and torture until the C.I.A get the infomation they want to hear. But is the man innocent?
But the film also deals with the many other issues of these turbulant times.
The film also boasts a brilliant twist at the end of the film.
The film is very well written and the addition of Meryl Streep and Alan Arkin add even more class to one of the most intelligent thrillers of the past year.
An excellent thought provoking thriller, that's well worth buying!

Watched this in the cinema, its one of those films that you wished you did'nt bother. A total let down. Good acting but the storyline was a let down

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Complex as many issues are

Well acted you get a feel of complex emotion and how hard it is to understand the insanity of the real world.
The stupidity of what people are doing for greed makes me very sad to people who think 9 11 was a attack on freedom this will not be a movie your infant mind will understand for those who know the truth you will love it

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Slow burner

Reese Witherspoon's egyptian born husband gets abducted by an anti terrorist commission set up after 9/11. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a world weary but young CIA operative who observes the interrogation of said husband. This is of those films that interlaces its story from a variety of angles and successfully so. Well acted and crafted.

Rendition is a really good film. The story line lets it down a bit as theres not enough background on certain characters, but i cannot wait till it makes my dvd collection. All the actors are great aswell and the ending is brilliant.
7/10 for me. :}
