After watching the first 3 films i didnt think this could be as good but after going to the cinema and then watching it on dvd i think as the series goes on there just getting better and the traps are getting worse. In this film there is a massive twist at the end which i thought was quite surprising but very well thought out. I think all saw fans now are just waiting for one thing, SAW 5 bring it on.

A superb film, follows on from the other 3 and shows why Jigsaw started to do his work. Good acting and some very interesting games, played by the jigsaw. The opening scene is not for the faint hearted. Can't wait for no five ?

this is probably the best saw, it's more smart and more well made than the others, some great gore, and its quite thrilling, way better than the disappointing saw 3.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Far better than most think

Not a scratch on the first, but a better direction than the 3rd. Nice to see more of a story this time. From a massive fan of the series, better than 2 & 3 and deserves far more credit than it's given.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Back to vintage Saw 1

Better than 2 and 3. Nearly as good as 4. Nice twist and packed full of gore which is always a bonus!

The new writers really made this film to take a turn in the Saw series, which shows. It seems as if they wanted each character to have more of a background, and be shown outside the scenes of each and every crime. We really get into each person's personal life. Plus, at the end we realize that the whole purpose of the rest of the films was something different.

What a completely rubbish movie, it's amazing how the creators of this series manage to make a worse movie each time. This is what happens when you put the worst of the directing, acting, and screenwriting talent of the film industry together.

Loves this film and every other saw film in the franchise. They gradually go down hill but still none the less absolutely brilliant. A must have for any horror fan.

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Not that good

Thought the second one was better as this one seems to drag on. If you havent seen the first three before this, you will be very confused as there are a lot of flashbacks to the second and first.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

Saw 4 certainly raises a lot of questions and certainly doesn't provide us with any answers. Easily the worst in the franchise, at times you feel it is gore for gores sake and the characters are turning further and further away from recognition as they seem to get papped just as you seem to care for them. Rigg was hopeless as the subject as the audience just followed him through instead of willing him on like Jeff or Matthews. Hopefully 5 and 6 give us a clearer indication of where Saw lies and where the game ends as it had potential to be the greatest horror franchise ever but is fast becoming a weak cash cow for the slaughter.
