this film is a great tongue firmly in cheek horror, up there with from dusk till dawn if you ask me, and as much as i love tarantino!!!, this is the far superior effort in the grindhouse double feature, its got over the top splatter gags, tons of profanity, hot chicks, and tarantino in his most wackiest role ever, which is hilarious, just enjoy for what it is, and dont take it to serious please those that havent seen it, i thought there was alot of unfair reviews on here cause people dident get it!, open a beer kick back and enjoy, you wont regret it, and i cant wait for machete to come out, looks awesome!!!.

This film should be watched with the huge lump of salt with which it was intended. It's messed up, gor, funny and definately gonna be a cult classic. If you're looking for a serious film give this is a miss, This is just Rodriguez having a laugh. Fantastic!!

What a waste of money and life. I would rather watch a slug moving from one side of my garden to the other!

This is one of the worse films that I have ever watched. The old film effect only made it worse and added nothing to the viewing experience. I usually like this kind of film but this was just rubbish. I am glad I did not further waste any money by buying the blue ray version.

If you like your old classic B movies that come under "weird" category then this may be for you. It wasnt to my taste at all and found it bordering on awful. Thank flip for Inglorious Basterds. Tarantino restored my faith with his latest film. Unfortunately this film was a waste of my money. Only gave it a couple of stars because of Bruce Willis. Seriously...avoid unless you like weird.

  The better half of Grindhouse.

By far the superior of the two Grindhouse segments to be released separately this is a gruesome, grimy, sleazy, exploitative, explosive, horror and genuinely fun-filled hour and a half of entertainment.

It's like every late 70s and early 80s horror flick you were told you couldn't watch as a kid but still recall bits and pieces of have been melded together in the fantastic concotion as mysterious Zombies lay siege to a small town while family dramas and lone heroes play amongst the exploding bodies!!

Rose McGowan is the absolute standout of a terrific cast that includes Josh Brolin, Micheal Parks, Bruce Willis, Marley Shelton, Stacey Ferguson and many other faces.

Blood-spatteringly brilliant!

Yes this is the first half of the grindhouse double bill that was meant to be, and its the one that doesnt suffer from the split.

Planet terror is a homage to sleazy, made for a 100 bucks movies made in the 70's and its the one of the best movies in years with great entertainment, where else could you see a beautiful rose mcgowan use a gun for a leg, pure genius.

Its action packed with explosive stunts, its humourous and ever so grusome, its got missing reels of film so just when you think you about to see something exciting it misses a tiny chunk out and picks up a scene later.

Its fun and exciting its like nothing you've ever seen before and will have you laughing or puking or both all the way through, excellent movie with a great cast and director.

The better of the two Grindhouse movies from Rodriguez/Tarantino.
Every character, every action sequence and every special effect looks as though it has stepped straight out of a traditional B-Movie.
Seriously awesome stuff and well worth buying!

  Oh sooo good!

This film is funny, gorey, intersting, complex....and cheesy :) I love how it's done to look like an old film, I love how it cuts out a huge, important part of the film due to missing film, and I even love the trailer for 'Machete' before the film. The gore is amazingly realistic and Rose McGowan plays a great, tough ass chick. 'Humaity's last hope rests on a high power machine gun' Briliant!

Definitely the better of the two Grindhouse movies, this is gory, violent, and awesome. All the characters have stepped straight out of a horror B movie and the lead from Freddy Rodriguez as El Wray is great - badass tattoos, wields butterfly knives, criminal history, unknown past, he is the epitome of cool. This film is worth a watch and in my opinion is a good addition to the collection.
