Stargate SG.1: Complete Series 1-10 Box Set (59 Discs)

Brilliant series, brilliant box set at a brilliant price but there are drawbacks to this lot, some of which cannot be overcome by skipping this and getting the previously released sets as they are one and the same.

1. The order of the disks is a little difficult to follow so I suggest that when you get this set make sure you do not mix them up, or make a dedicated set of custom DVD cases to hold each season. This is what I have done.

2. The folders that these disks are stored in do not do much to secure them well and some of the disks will be marked on the playing side when you get them but none of mine were un-playable, another good reason for the custom cases.

3. Do not rely on the booklet, a lot of the episodes are apparently missing (even though they are not) and are also in the incorrect order when compared to the actual disks.

4. Worse of all, episodes really are in the incorrect order on season 2, 4 and 8, including Gemnini and Prometheus Unbound which is referenced in Gemini - these are not only in the wrong order, but are on different disks - a real nuisance.

All that said, the set is still worth having as unless you buy a region one set this is the best you will be able to do as there are basically the original released individual sets packed into one box. It is better than not having them at all.

All the episodes are there. The only problem is the booklet with it is wrong. The discs are just the same as if you buy each season seperatly. And for those worried, those repeat episodes that are from season 1 are on both the season 1 discs and the season two because when they were sold seperatly it was designed to allow people to catch up. Not sure why, but that was the reason i was given.

Has a fan of sg1 i thought that this compendium of disks at a reasonable price was a must have for any body who has previously not purchased any of the seasons. There is just one thing is there anbody who can help me i seem not to be able to view any of the speacial features on the disks does anbody out there have any solutions. i have also noticed there is at least 5 episodes missing from different seasons does somebody know why these are missing.

I haven't seen this version of the box set but i do own the region 2 and 4 box set and to have over 200 episodes at 45 mins long including extras, for this price it is amazing! consider that 1 series usualy costs between £25 to £40 and a single 4 episode DVD £15 to £12. This is outstanding value and speeking from experience if you already have a few DVDs don't wait to finish the collection it is so much better to buy the box set. The great thing is if you think of an episode you like or missed you can just pic it up and watch and as i found sometimes just get into it so much that you watch an entire series over a few nights. how ever often you intend to watch them you aren't a true stargate fan without owning all 10 series, truly great value and it will last you forever.

Great box set, been waiting years just to buy the whole series in one go then it arrives at such an awesome price! Only problem is I've watched up to disc seven and found that the third and fourth episodes on this disc (season 2) are in actual fact episodes from season one "Thors Hammer" & "Hathor" unlike one of the earlier reviews "1969" is included on this very disc but I would still love to know why I have these two episodes twice, repeated in a different season of the show and totally spoiling the second series plus devaluing a fantastic set! I have tried checking official sites and forums but it would seen that no-one official is aware of a problem and the fans are not talking about it. How can every episode be included when some episodes are being repeated/missed out. Very strange and not pleasing something needs to be addressed here!
