This DVD set features all four Die Hard films!

Die Hard (John McTiernan) (1988): New York cop John McClane, facing Christmas alone, flies to Los Angeles to see his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) and their kids in an attempt to patch things up. He arrives at his wife's high tech office building in the middle of their Christmas party just as it is gatecrashed by the ruthless master criminal Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) and a dozen fellow activists intent on relieving the Nakatomi Corporation of six hundred million dollars in negotiable bonds...

Die Hard 2 - Die Harder (Dir. Renny Harlin) (1990): On a snowy Christmas Eve in the nation's capital, a team of terrorists has seized a major International Airport, and now holds thousands of holiday travellers hostage. The terrorists, a renegade band of crack military commandos led by a murderous rogue officer (William Sadler), have come to rescue a drug lord from justice. They've prepared for every contingency, except one: John McClane, an off-duty cop seized by a feeling of deadly de-ja-vu.

Die Hard With A Vengeance (Dir. John McTiernan) (1995): This time, New York cop John McClane (Willis) is the personal target of the mysterious Simon (Jeremy Irons), a terrorist determined to blow up the entire city if he doesn't get what he wants. Accompanied by an unwilling civilian partner (Samuel L. Jackson), McClane careens wildly from one end of New York City to the other as he struggles to keep up with Simon's deadly game.

Die Hard 4.0: Live Free Or Die Hard (Dir. Len Wiseman) (2007): A computer genius is systematically shutting down the computer infrastructure of the US. The mysterious figure behind the scheme seems to have figured out every digital angle, but he hasn't counted on an old fashioned 'analogue' cop, John McClane.

Ok so I love near enough everything about this box set, but I have still given it a 3 star rating.

Firstly the look of the artwork on the box set is fantastic and I would love that in my collection.

Secondly the price is fantastic at £26.99 for four movies including a new film which is around £12.99 on it's own.

Thirdly the first three movies are classics, 1 and 2 especially.

The downside to this box set though is that it is just a rushed put together to make some money on the back of the 4.0 release.

The chances are you will end up with another box set released with all the extras in the future even though to some people the extras are not important, but I hate the way that companies rip off us movie fans keep releasing different versions months after they have released something else, just hold back the dates and make sure you have the final final release, stop being so greedy.

I have got special editions of 1 and 2 but I haven't got 3 or 4 in my collection to which I often wish I had 3 so that I could watch it from time to time.

So in respects to myself, this box set is very very tempting and might be an easy purchase to make, but I am tempted to hold out for the extras box set, especially for 4.0 as hopefully that would contain a lot of out takes and more.

Still if your not bothered about extras and want four great movies and a great price. BUY BUY BUY

These are the best action films ever made, forget the overated Matrix, this is what action is all about. Bruce Willis was made a star with the first film, and the original 1988 movie is still the best action movie ever made !
But it's also good to see that the sequels are still very good.

DIE HARD 1988
Without a doubt the greatest action movie of all time.
Nothing in the past twenty years have ever touched it,
It spawned many imitators but none of them came close to the greatness of this classic !
*****

DIE HARD 2 DIE HARDER 1990
A excellent sequel, and a much bigger film.
the film has some amazing action scenes, but nothing can compare it to the original. This is still a brilliant bit of action escapism.
****

DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE 1995
Willis and Samuel L.Jackson dodge bullets and explosion's as they try to beat Jeremy Irons from planting bombs around New York. An original twist on the series, Willis and Jackson are brilliant together, trading insults and wise cracks, but the film is let down by Jeremy Irons weak Vilian and a tagged on ending. Apart from these quibbles the film is a non-stop ride of action and narrow escapes.
****
DIE HARD 4.0 2007
A post 9/11 action movie as McClane takes on cyber terrorists. The film's violence and bad languge is very diluted. But makes up for brilliant action. Willis has never been better a McClane as a ageing cop, way out of his depth. The best of the sequels.

This collection gets 5 stars because of the value for money. But Die Hard changed the face of action movies. This is a collection that no action fan can do without.
A MUST BUY !

Now, I much prefer the first two movies where it is in one building, and hopefully (as I saw in an interview) there will be a final Die Hard where he goes back to that, don't know what building though. LOL. Overall, John kicks ass!
