Series 1: The first episode begins at midnight on the day of the California Presidential Primary. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) heads up the government's Counter-Terrorist Unit. He discovers that there's going to be an assassination attempt on Senator Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), an African-American presidential candidate. Bauer faces a battle against the clock to avert disaster.

The series follows several characters as they live through a day that none of them will forget. For Kimberly (Elisha Cuthbert) a night on the town takes an unexpected turn. Teri (Leslie Hope) sets out to find Kimberly and encounters more danger than she ever imagined possible. Senator Palmer, unaware there's going to be an attempt on his life, faces the threat of a long buried scandal resurfacing. Meanwhile, Jack, with help from his Chief-of-Staff Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke), is charged with the responsibility of stopping the assassination. But who can he trust when it appears a rogue element inside the Agency is in on the hit?

And all the time, the clock keeps ticking...

Series 2: Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) race to prevent a nuclear bomb being detonated by terrorists in Los Angeles in the second season of 24.

Series 3: When the head of a Mexican drug cartel is imprisoned by Jack Bauer (Sutherland), a plot ensues to blackmail the US Government with the threat of a released bio-weapon that will kill millions to ensure his release. With Palmer seeking re-election to a second term, will Jack survive this day?

Series 4: 18 months after day 3, CTU has a new leader, Erin Driscoll, a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities. After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller and also is romantically involved with Heller's married daughter, Audrey Raines, suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll. Jack believes that the train explosion is a prelude for bigger things to come...

Series 5: 18 months have passed since the events of Day 4. With the exception of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler and Chloe O'Brian, the world believes that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is dead...

Jack is, in fact, living under the name of Frank Flynn and conceals his identity by taking a manual job on an oil rig. However, when President Logan is placed at the centre of a labyrinthine conspiracy involving the signing of a vital U.S. - Russian arms treaty, Jack is forced back into action!

Season 6 picks up 20 months after last season's shocking season finale, when Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was captured by Chinese government agents - battered, bloodied and header for points unknown. Wayne Palmer (DB Woodside) is now the President of the United States. After a series of horrific terrorist attacks, Palmer and his team of advisors begin an unthinkable nail-biting day.

 I'm addicted to 24!

I didn't realise that they had released 1-6 boxset!
I'm very tempted to get it, but they are releasing a 7th series (at least, if not more) so it wouldn't be a part of the boxset.. But that would be the only downside to buying this boxset!
24 Is absolutely incredible. I love every series. I do not have a favourite. Obviously the later series are similar to the earlier ones, but having said this - 24, in every series, manages to give extra twists and great storylines.
The cast is fantastic, brilliant stories, and generally amazing. I've got loads of my friends addicted to 24.. We've all seen the series endlessly.
This is a must buy! For anyone who likes action...

Top 100 Mobile Reviewer

I have to disagree whole-heartedly with RichySimpo... in the sense that, you don't really have to start with Season 1 to get a feel for 24.
I was a late bloomer, who started with... wait for it... season 6 !!!!!
Yep, SIX.!!! Why??
Well, '24' was out at a time when our TV screens were also getting pummeled with the likes of Lost, and the then up-&-coming Heroes, and other U.S. series which seemed to ooze from the U.S.A.!! ...and faced with what I saw on Lost, and the unbelievability of it (surviving that long without foods... fat guy never loses weight in weeks, etc), i'd wrongly 'assumed' that 24 was gonna be another gung-ho, American, look-at-us-we're-the-big-heroes type of shoot 'em up's.......... but, BOY, was I ever wrong!!!

I'd seen the "24: Redemption" advertised recently, and I have to admit (whether due to PR, Marketing...???) I was intrigued; and, as luck would have it, Sky One were showing all of Season 6, from 6am to 6am..... yup, 24hrs of '24'. So I taped it on my V+ box, and cue me vegging out for a couple of days being drip-fed the CTU saga. So when Ieventually got to see the '24: Redemption' 2hr special, I sooo wanted to see it all from the kick-off.... and that, my fellow, would-be 'agents', is why I've bought this luvverly box-set.

OK, so I won't veg-out so much this time -- even though I'd love to.... and so what if I can see what's gonna happen by the write-up on the back of the box / dvd's..... that won't make it any less enticing to watch -- in fact, it'll make me tingle in anticipation of how, where, which, why, what, whom..... and yeah, yeah, so maybe I can predict some of the things around the corner... much like most films or TV dramas when you get to see it through EVERY characters eyes... thats easy... but you have to put yourself into the main characters shoes, and imagine how THEY'D feel given those circumstances.. and what THEY might do...... not coz YOU KNOW what everyone else is doing / has done!

But believe me, I'm going to enjoy this ride right through until the final credits.... and then continue the ride when Season 7 starts at the end of Jan.'09.
As a wannabe Actor, this is the type of stuff that makes me press on until I get the right role for myself one day...... coz u never know!

I AM Jack Bauer!!
Psych!!!!!

This is simply the greatest thing I have ever been given.
Having never seen an episode of 24, a very kind friend of mine bought this for me and now I can sample the delights of Mr Bauer and co to my hearts content.
And I'm still only two thirds of the way through!

 Best show ever made

What else can be said except this show is just perfect. The suspense is amazing, and it is famous for its addictive watching. It is near impossible not to watch the next episode. Season 2 was my favourite however every season so far is 5/5. A must have boxset. Worth every penny.

 fantastic
