A man (Black) whose brain becomes magnetized unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend's video store. In order to satisfy the store's most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia, the two men set out to remake the lost films, which include Back to the Future, The Lion King, and Robocop.

The remake sequences make this film worth watching, but Black's mania isn't enough to hold the rest of the film together this time - and Mos Def's character is very dull.

 Great

I personally thought this film is worth a watch at least. It isn't my usual style of action or thriller type films but it makes you smile and laugh. It's quirky for sure but i enjoyed it, makes a change to the usual rubbish that comes spewing out these days.

 Absolute rubbish

This is by far one of the worst films I have ever seen.
I watched this with 3 other people and we wanted to turn it off after 20 minutes. I regret giving it a chance and watching it until the end as it was a complete waste of nearly 2 hours of my life.

The idea has potential, but the way the do it is terrible. At points I don't really understand what they are trying to do with some of the scenes.
Terrible beginning. Terrible middle. Terrible ending.
I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone!

Michel Gondry makes another wonderful movie but manages not to copy his "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
Be Kind, Rewind and Eternal Sunshine are two very different movies, the writing is completely different and visually they look and seem nothing alike.
This movie looks very realistic and manages to capture the true feeling of the story. The lead actors all do good jobs in this one, Jack Black steps out once again as a whacky character who'll make you laugh whenever he's on screen. Mos Def is probably the main lead playing the character of Mike, a young boy who just wants to do good in life, he doesn't want any trouble he just wants to keep his head down and do the best for the store.
All the actors put on a good show, they play the parts well and really help you get into the spirit of the movie.
Overall this is just a wonderful movie, in the end you just feel happy and can't help but smile at the screen. I don't know what is so special about it but something is, there's just something about this movie which will make you want to keep watching again and again.
It's not an out and out comedy but it'll certainly make you laugh. Throughout the movie you'll go through a range of emotions but in the end you'll leave with a smile on your face.

Be Kind, Rewind shows us just how wonderful cinema is, and shows us how much happiness and joy can be brought from just a roll of film.

A Few Laughs But Generally Rubbish

Luckily I didn't pay to see this film as I got free tickets to watch the preview before it was released.
Basically yes the film will make you laugh a bit and some parts are quite funny but generally the storyline is really slow and hardly eventful, which just does not suit Jack Black at all especially in comparison with some of his acting in other films such as the brilliant "School Of Rock".
The storyline mainly focuses on Jack and his friend trying to re-create classic films such as "Ghostbusters" and "Robocop", so as you imagine their cheap camera, daft hand made costumes, and useless acting skills do make this film quite funny in parts, but then when it comes to the end of the film they end up making some sad boring film about a dead musician which tries to make this film more of a tear-jercker than a comedy??
To summarise this is a cheaply made film showing two men trying to make spoof film's really cheaply, theres a couple of funny scenes and then an unmeaningful ending, thats it.
