Film was near to spot on with the story set out in the book. This is such an insight into the lives of the people of Afghanistan, such an emotional and profound story. Truely is a great film and great approach to understanding what Afghanistan was and now is, Try and read the book also it is fantastic!

I have just finished watchin this film which made me cry almost as much as the book! i was happy to find that the film stayed true to the book's storyline. It is original, emotional and thought provoking. A must see, i would highly recommend it (and the book)!

What an amazing film, exploring so many themes; the often tricky relationship between father and son, between right and wrong and love and hate. A gripping story chronicling the lives of two young boys in Afghanistan. One rich and one poor, their lives played out in Afghanistan before and after the Taliban. A classic tale of betrayal and redemption but given the modern theme and ongoing situation, it is a film that cries out to be seen. The young boy Hassan in the story is a fine actor and shows an astonishing depth of character acting for his age. The story draws you in and holds you tight and refuses to let you go! I laughed and cried and was utterly spellbound from the beginning to the uplifting end. A masterpiece.
