Review

A wild and wicked send-up of every musical biopic ever made Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story stars John C. Reilly as one of the most iconic figures in rock history - Dewey Cox!

America loves Cox! But behind the music is the up-and-down-and-up-again story of a musician whose songs would change a nation. On his rock 'n roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries three times, has 22 kids and 14 stepkids, stars in his own 70's TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to the Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to - and then kicks - every drug known to man... but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon and eventually earns the love of a good woman.

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

This is an oustanding wild and wicked send up of every music biography ever made, most of all Walk The Line.
This is the funniest film of the year as the story spans 50 years in the life of music legend Dewey Cox. There are also plenty cameo performances it hard to keep count, the best being Jack black and Paul Rudd as Paul McCartney and John Lennon, with Cox helping to split up the Beatles. The laughs do fall slightly short in the baggy drug fueled middle section of the film, but soon after the film again picks up pace to it's side splitting best. If like many if you never saw this movie at the cinema, you really are missing a great comedy.
If you liked Anchor Man, Superbad and the Legend of Ricky Bobby. This is a comedy not to be missed.
The comedy is great, the music is great, and the film is great.
Well worth Buying!

They dont do Half stars"so im writing it here, ive given Walk hard three and a half stars.Fans of Anchorman and John c reily should realy enjoy this supremely Daft Comedy,Right from Boogie nights i knew John c reily had a good Deadpan face for comedy"and its no suprise to see him sparring comedy chops with Will ferrell"Although he,s not in the same ball park as Ferrell"He is Good and Funny.People who are Fans of Music will get a kick out of the some of the Mad ideas on show here,Such as the multi-layering of music on a big overblown track""The Beach boys anyone?""i want 500 Digeridoos on it tommorow.Elvis a mumbling womanising"kung fu freak psycho,The Fashions,The drugs,The Cheesy music & a spot on group parody of The Beatles"ive got a song about an Octopus"well why dont u stick it up your Arse Ringo starr.Walk hards not a classic"but its certainly worth a look by people who love silly comedies that never for a second take themselves seriously and alot of the Sending up is Spot on.

parody of musical biographical movies such as 'Ray' and 'Walk' the line,i was looking forward to this. yes, at first, a few laugh out moments, but then it got stale, relying on the same jokes over and over.airplane it isnt.anchorman it isnt. its not even on par with Talladega Nights. better off renting it/ borrowing it. dont waste your money on this.
