DVD
8 page booklet - Bonus disc featuring over two hours of full length performances including music from all four of the band's albums, alternate edits and a brand new song recorded live in the band's own studio and several featurettes.
In 2006, having toured the world over in support of their Takk... album, Sigur Ros returned home to play a series of free, unannounced concerts in Iceland. Heima is a unique record of that tour filmed in over 13 different locations across the island, taking in the biggest and smallest shows of the band's career.
Directed by the Oscar nominated Dean DeBlois, Heima is premiered in London in October at the BBC Electric Proms alongside an exclusive live acoustic performance from the band.

Very good quality of music and video, even the parts recorded right in the middle of nowhere. Fantastic scenery combined with interesting camera positions and time-lapse or backward video of natural phenomena like waterfalls and clouds. Short interviews with band members feel very genuine, nothing like the forced cool-ness or interesting-ness you might expect in a music dvd supposed to bring in money. A short but interesting insight into their culture, food, way of living.
And last but certainly not least: the music itself. Brilliant. A must-by for everyone remotely interested in Sigur Rós, Iceland or good, authentic music in general.
outstanding
