The beginning of this film is a little clunky and also confusing , but sit tight, because you are in for the ride of your life. The concept is compelling, with interesting devices utilized to tell the overall story. There are fine performances all around, with Phillip Seymour Hoffman's being the best of the cast-no surprise there. Ethan Hawke also deserves credit for a very strong performance as well. The Direction by Mr. Lumet is outstanding. The film has a Seventies feel in the respect that risks are taken in the telling of this story, but unlike the majority of trite films that populate the landscape today, this is a thriller that is sincerely based upon relationships rather than special effects or product plugs. You will be greatly rewarded for the time invested in this film.

I'm not a big fan of crime films, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

The acting was superb by all, the script was well written and everything seemed so natural, and emotional. Similarly to 'No Country For Old Men', there is almost no background music or sound in this film, which some people may find boring and in some cases ruin the movie. But it certainly didn't bother me. This movie keeps you brain active by putting the pieces together.

Although it's a fairly straight forward film, the film is divided into sections. At the beginning of the film, you see the main event happen. The next section is about four weeks before, and how they start to plan it all. the great thing about this movie is not that though, but all the drama that comes after. And how everything that could possibly go wrong, does.

This film is very different to most crime films, which puts it in a league of it's own. Highly recommended.

I watched this film the other night, apart from it being 2hrs long it was entertaining...It has got a good plot, and the way they have done the film, you see it from everybodies eyes, from days before and days after the robbery...it keeps changing....Its not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but its worth a watch.
