Vinnie jones plays a fantastic nutter most of the time, but putting a weapon in his hand and casting him in a horror film is asking for even more trouble, this is indeed a role he was born to play, fantastic story and even better violence!

Finally an excellent horror has arrived.
Midnight meat train is sickening to the core,
But that's the whole point, i think people lost the thought
Of what genre horror is suppose to be about, a good horror
Would either put you off something for life e.g. Been the last on a train, sicken you, disturb you or even attempt to give you heart attack. And that's the whole point of a horror film, its the buzz of been scared. Ive not saw a original horror movie since the saw series& even that's starting to go a bit over the top now. But yes this movie is superb. Only few movies have succeded in horror this century and that is 'saw series', 'the hills have eyes (re-make)', texas chainsaw massacre (re-make', 'creep', 'decent' and 28 days/ weeks later. I'd defiantly place this into one of the best horror films of the century, its excellent and original. Clive barker (director of hellraiser) has done it again. Must buy.

 Surprisingly good

When i first heard that Vinnie Jones is going to be the killer in a slasher flick, i nearly died from laughing. The guy was a good footballer and an even better tough guy (e.g. Snatch, Lock Stock, Mean Machine etc.) But for him to go that one step further and start killing off characters in a horror flick, it just seemed... foolish. Well i believe i was proved wrong in this case. Vinnie Jones manages to pull off the sadistic killer with ease (I wonder why) All the way through the movie, he has a creepy aura about him and when it comes time for a bit of killing, he looks like a child at christmas. Really good movie overall except the story is a little far fetched at times. Definately worth a watch.

I really did not enjoy this film at all. It lacked the basics of a good story line, and to me the whole film seemed pointless. Some parts didnt seem to make sense, and i often wondered 'why is this happening because they dont know about that?!' (I wont give true examples because it will ruin the film for those who are going to watch it after reading this). Also, some of the acting was very poor. The only person i can give true credit to is Vinnie Jones. He is the reason i gave this film three stars instead of two. He did a good job of playing a sick and very weird serial killer. He really did make you shiver at some points, and i thought he was very chilling and creepy, which is just what you want for that kind of character. The only other good point about this film was it's ulmost unpredictable ending, which did add a good twist, even though the rest of the film wasn't good.
Overall, this film was typical of any other run-of-the-mill slasher movie. It didnt really make much sense and didnt really have a good plot. Also, it didnt leave you in suspense or horror, or anything else really, other than boredem. However, credit must be given to Vinnie Jones.
My advice; if you like slasher films then its for you, but if not i would stay clear.

Good movie of a Clive Barker story

It has been a while since we have seen a good rendition of a Clive Barker story. This one is excellent in that respect. It has the madness, bleakness and horror in all its gory and visceral detail. Not recommended for everyone, although movies like Saw made gore more mainstream. A must for horrorfans / gorehounds and Barker fans.
