Review

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

Anyone who compares this movie to beowolf is clearly a bit slow! They couldnt be more different. This is a tongue in cheek warrior movie and thoroughly enjoyable if its not taken too seriously. I like it, although i did feel like doing sit-ups afterwards!

WAIT! STOP RIGHT THERE. Don't you dare click that "no" button. It's been a while since I've seen a film this bad. If your a fan of an awful story, terrible acting and the most annoying bullet time sequences (WHEN THERE ARE NO BULLETS!!) then this is your movie. However, if you have an ounce of sense in you and aren't swayed by stupid gore avoid this. Plus there are plenty of half naked men. But then again that might appeal to some people....But the main probelem is that it is a cheap and nasty copy of Beowulf. They saw Beowulf coming and thought "how can we possibly beat that?" Heres the solution. Now do the right thing and watch Beowulf.
