I am a highlander fan. Love the first film. Ignore the second. Think the others are ok and enjoyed the series. This film, though, is not just a bad highlander film but possibly one of the worst films ever. It is a joke. The 'plot' is pitiful and the main baddie is the worst character of all time. Ever! I did however find myself laughing a lot at this complete pile of tosh and the final battle has to be seen to be believed, and not in a good way. I can only conclude that this film was made with the intention of killing the Highlander film franchise once and for all. All of those involved in making this should be embarrassed and ashamed. DO NOT PAY GOOD MONEY FOR THIS! If you want to see a great new Highlander film then buy the anime 'Highlander - Search for Vengeance' instead...that is a great film.
When it first came out i watched highlander 4 endgame and ill be honest i thought it was a bit rubbish, but then i watched the sereis and for doing this i understood alot more. I am a big fan of highlander and have been since i was a small child, and now i do film production for a living, and i think it is a shame that people are jumping on the bandwagon to slate highlander because they cannot read the deeper narrative of the film and see what it is truly trying to represent. If your a "TRUE" highlander fan you will like this film and find it enjoyable to watch, it is very different to the rest of the highlanders and is very good, i liked it. All i can say to people who dont like it is, go make one better if you have the balls to do so!!! Because only then you will realise what it takes to actually make a film for people to like.
I sat watching this film hoping, in desperation, it would get better as it went along. Nope it didn't. What the thinking was behind making this movie is beyond me. It languished unreleased for ages, and I can see why. I wanted this movie to be good, I have enjoyed Highlander over the years. However in hindsight they should have heeded the mantra 'There can only be one' and left it with the original film. That stands way above this tosh and I suspect this film will kill the Highlander franchise once and for all. Shame!
I can only imagine the few positive reviews here were written by people with a vested interest in the film's success, because this is one of the worst films ever made. Nobody in their right mind could find anything good to say about it, except "It Ended".
Utterly bereft of any originality or class, and an insult to the name Highlander.
Why do I subject myself to watching the sequels? It must be because that I live in hope that one day some good will come out of this series of terrible sequels.
If you thought parts 2,3 and 4 were bad in this damned series well you ain't seen nothing yet!
This is a cheap and nasty addition. But what could you expect from the director of The Lawnmower man?
Again as with the rest of the sequels the plot is a total mess and the immortals have to join forces to fight the ultimate evil.
The action is pathetic and the acting is chronic. Even one of the immortals looks uncannily like Rhydian the albino runner up to X-Factor 2007.
Everything about the film is bad.
The only way to breath life into this dead series, would be to remake the great original and start all over again.
