WOW
This film is truly amazing, one of the classics. You must get in this steel case. the extras on both discs are great and theres plenty of them. I dont know why but one of my favorites was the one about the costumes it was actually quite interesting. Also the one about the weapons was also really good, i have read the graphic novels that the film is based on and i never realized that not any of the guns or blades are 100% real they've all got a Miller twist.
If you get the one disc you dont get the extended stuff and on the second disc you can watch just watch story at a time with the extended bits in. The extended bits in The Big Fat Kill are the best in my opinion, they include more action from Miho and how Becky escaped from the alley. As usual Rodriguez has his 15 minute flick school and cooking school (Breakfast Tacos).
The Film in general is truly astounding, yes it is i'll be honest VERY
violent, Its defanatlly NOT for children, very adult themes.
Superb performance's from every actor and actress, the cast alone is five stars, inparticular Mickey Rourke as Marv.
If your a fan of the Graphic Novels This is a must buy.
If your a fan of good films buy this film
overall = One of the Best films of all time BUY
"Hell of a way to end a partnetship..."

Three separate stories
Two directors
One hell of a city
Sin City is a unique and brilliantly stylized film split into three distinct sections, each based on the graphic novels of Frank Miller. Rather than take the stories and make them his own, director Robert Rodriguez asked Miller to direct it with him so the stories wouldn't lose their gritty personality. With their combined knowledge of comics and films, they have created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Visually stunning with acting that captures the characters perfectly, Sin City is a spectacular film that put CGI to good use.
The bonus features are interesting and fantastic to watch, with variety in the featurettes - ranging from the cars to the costumes.
If there were to be any downside, it would be that the theatrical cut of the film still feels short at two hours. However, with this 'Re-Cut and Extended' edition, you're given an extra twenty-plus minutes to satisfy your dark side (until the sequel at least...)
Overall, the extended cut and bonus features make this a highly recommended buy.

Explores the dark and miserable town of Basin City, telling the story of three different people, all caught up in the violent corruption of the city. The stories are very comic book, but also happen to be very good. You get pulled in to the bizarre plots and characters. It's all superbly directed, filmed and cast. A truly original and striking anthology with comic book style stories and visuals. I think it really comes down to whether you go with the flow or resist. If you go with it, you will love it. If you resist, you will hate it. I absolutely loved it. For me, the best film of the year.
I'D RATHER BE SINNER THAN A SAINT!

Based on Frank Miller cult graphic novels, this ground breaking movie is a dazzling comic book brought to life, when at the time of release, nothing had been seen like it before. It offers an amazing ensemble cast in the coolest movie for years. Only the actors in the film are real and almost everything else is computer generated, this gives a amazing experience that you are actually turning the pages of Frank Millers novels. This approach as been tried before but failed in the pathetic Sky Captain and the World Tomorrow. But in Sin Sity they have managed to perfect the method. But what makes the film a classic is not just the impressive effects, it's the stories it tells, as each chapter is gripping and very violent. This DVD offers you the chance to watch the cinema version or each chapter seperatly in extended cuts.
With hours of bonus features this is the version to buy.
An outstand technical triumph, but a amazing film by it's self. The film may be similar in the approach as Frank Millers other big screen adaption of 300, but Sin City is far superior.
It would be a real Sin not to buy this classic!
Completley UNIQUE

Sin City, based on Frank Miller's successful series of comic books of the same name is an intense thrill ride from start to finish. The film was directed by Miller himself as well as Robert Rodriguez, along with Quentin Tarantino, who directed a small segment of the final cut.
The ensemble cast is tremendous and includes (among others): Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Brittany Murphy, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Michael Madsen, Josh Hartnett, Benicio Del Toro, Elijah Wood and Rutger Hauer.
The stories of the various different characters and the consequences their actions have on their counterparts are ingeniously interweaved to form a narrative that is constantly moving at break neck speed.
The story begins with Hartigan (Bruce Willis), a detective of Sin City with one day left from retirement, in pursuit of a sick child killer. The ensuing events are violent, unexpected and exhilerating. After Hartigan's story has been told, Rodriguez and Miller move the action along to Marv, a man determined to find out who killed the girl of his dreams. This leads him to the girls of Old Town, the hookers who work the streets there, enforcing their own laws and looking after themselves. After a series of events leads to a possible war between the police and the prostitutes, action has to be taken by all of the characters to prevent it before it is too late. It is during the second half of the film that all of the characters' connections to one another become clear and the story trundles on towards its shocking conclusion.
Usually a film featuring strippers, prostitutes, extreme violence and explosions would be considered "bad taste" cinema, but Sin City is so beautifully acted, shot and directed that it is an astounding masterpiece. The cast are all on top form and the production values are tremendous. Sin City is a must-see!
The DVD extras are excellent, with the second disc featuring the extended director's cut of the film which only adds to the experience, and offer an insight into the creative process behind the film.

in early 2007 i watched a movie called Sin City. Having never heard of the graphic novel i thought it looked like the same crap churned out by Hollywood year after year, but soon i realised that Sin City is a modern masterpiece. the only problem was that the film was limited to one disc, containing virtually no special features.
This 2 disc rerelease finally does justice to a seriously underrated film. Not only is there an extended version of the film, handily divided into the 4 seperate stories and a series of interesting featurettes, focusing on props, costumes, effects and more (not like the standard 'making of' crap found on 99% of "2 disc special editions")
Last, but by no means least, is a ten minute cooking school in which Robert Rodriguez himself tells us how to make a 'Breakfast tortilla'. While completely irrelevant to the rest of the movie, this is an irresistably magnificent end to an indisputably brilliant steelbook of magnificence.
Need i say more?
A sin to sell it for £8!

I had to import this from the states over 18 months ago, as I had given up all hope of it ever been released in the UK. Turns out, however, that I was wrong, and lucky for you because this 2 disc set is an absolute delight.
The theatrical cut is on disc 1, just like the original release, but it's the individual stories on disc 2 that really make this a must. Each story is shot as it was originally intended, with each of the 4 stories having it's own opening titles and credits as well as many additional scenes that were cut from the original version.
The Hartigan story benefits the most from this treatment, and while none of the added scenes are crucial to the stories, they do add a bit more depth to the characters, Marv in particular. And I promise you you will love the extended ending to The Big Fat Kill. Any excuse to have the lovely Devon Aoki on screen for a few seconds longer as Miho is worth £8 alone, even if she is playing a sadistic assassin.
Overall, this edition is essential to any real fan of the film or the books, even if you already own the theatrical cut. So many movies, release extended cuts that are terrible, just to make more cash out of fans (Fantastic 4 springs to mind). However, this is definately up there with the Terminator 2 and Aliens special editions that were vastly superier to there original theatrical releases thanks to additional scenes. A must buy at £8!
Great Purchase

This DVD is a great purchase even if you have already bought the vanilla DVD previously. Rodriguez always packs his DVDs with all the extras he possibly can. Definite highlights are the Film School and Cooking School features (Breakfast tacos this time!) The second disc allows you to view each story within the movie on it's own as it originally was paced in the comics, including scenes that extend the stories.
A must buy!
