Futurama: Bender's Big Score!

Disapointed with the simpsons movie or miss Futurama? Get this.

There's so many good things about this movie, and although it manages to borrow one joke from a simpsons episode it still betters the recent simpson movie hands down. So much so, that it already has a sequel done, and two in post production.

Futurama is back baby, and i couldn't be happier.

The movie itself starts off like any episode and creates the long long long running joke about box (fox) employee powder, that have you grinning everytime you see it through the whole movie !

It does wain in the middle of the film, but more than makes up for it near the end especially when everybody's favourite, Zapp appears ;)

There's so many jokes and one liners and for us experianced Futurama watchers, some jokes if we watched it from the beginning.

The title of the film is misleading though, it's not exactly "benders big score", but i doubt that'll put anybody off. Al Gore even voices himself, in a few amusing circumstances, i like a guy that can laugh at himself and have fun with his character.

Billy West is at his best in the movie, as Fry, Zoidberg, the Professor, Zapp Brannigan and President Richard Nixon's Head as well as many others. It's a film not to be missed.

I'm already waiting in anticipation for "Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs", "Futurama: Bender's Game" and "Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder".

Firstly, I must say I am a huge fan of Futurama, and was gutted when it was cancelled. That being the case, I thought this would be amazing..... however I felt let down. Firstly, they seem to be constantly having a go at the network who cancelled them, never seem to let it drop. Secondly, I think this was really just a normal epsiode stretched out to be feature legnth. Thirdly, it just wasnt that funny. Glad they're back, and I hope the next efforts are better.

first let me say i was (and still am) a big fan of futurama.
this film does have some really funny moments but the plot has been stretched to within an inch of its life and its obvious. the whole point of futurama was that it made you laugh out loud every 30 seconds buit because of all the "story" and "plot" its about 5 mins between every laugh.

this really should have been made into a one off (22 min) episode or at best a two parter, there is quite simply not enough plot or jokes to sustain 88 mins.

wait til this is sold at a budget price before you get it. otherwise you will feel robbed....

i did warn you.

the first time you watch this movie, i think you will probably expect it to be a slight bit better, i did. After watching it again, getting to grips with the plot and the sequence of events, this film is just absoloutely great. I love the extras that the guys have put in the film e.g. mathmatical references and so on, dont want to spoil anything else.

The extras in this Dvd are also awesome!!! the commentary is nearly as funny as the film itself and its highly enjoyable listening to the guys, theres also loads more special features which add up to one great package, you defernately need to get this!!!

I don't understand how any Futurama fan could be disappointed by this. This is Futurama at it's funniest and best. Feature length stories are notoriously difficult for animated series (South Park pulled it off, but Simpsons struggled) but this never gets boring or self-indulgent, and the DVD is packed with top quality extras; there's no fillers here.
All the main cast get plenty of time during the 2 hours, and virtually every minor character gets a cameo at some point (Zapp Brannigan's appearance is all too short, but no doubt he'll get more screen time in the future episodes). For the Zoidberg fans there are some of his best moments of the series so far, and I loved the unrelenting torrent of abuse Farnsworth gives the Fox network (or the 'Box network') for cancelling the series, and I hope it's true that the people responsible got sacked!
