The first film was excellent, good story and fast paced, this second installment was a complete disapointment.
The story is weak and the concept of clearing a family members name from the past has all been done so many times before, and normally better than this.
Rent it, don't buy it, and thats if you have nothing better to do at all.
one to treasure

I didn't get to see this at the cinema, so pre-ordered it here. When it arrived i couldn't wait to watch it. The actors/actresses gave an excellent performance. Yes the plot is similar to the first one but there is a real twist in here which doesn't get revealed until near the end. The action sequences are brilliant and at times i found myself laughing at the characters and the stuff they get upto.
This is one to treasure, but also watch it and see what you think.
Very Good.

Really enjoyed the 1st, and, against the opinions of many, bought the 2nd. Turned out to be well worth the money, just as fun and exciting as the other. Deserves 4 Stars.
Its ok but i would not rush out to buy it !

The First Movie was Exellent ! This Im Afraid is one of those sequels that should NEVER have been done ! The plot and adventure is the same as the first movie ! Cage looks OLD and Haggered and i think this was made as a knee jerk reaction to the Firsts Undoubted Popularity ! ! Bad choice Boys im Afraid !
MY ADVISE IS WAIT UNTIL IT GOES INTO THE SALE RACK !
American Treasure

Dont get me wrong, we (as avid film watchers) enjoy a little 'American Cheese' now and again, it can be fun not to take things too seriously all the time, but this film really does show what the Americans do badly, and the comic element is completely missing. Not fun. Save your money and watch Indy again.
good , just not great

Don't watch this film expecting arthouse, instead take your brain out and enjoy. highly enjoyable action flick , that is not trying to win awards just justify its production costs.
Which I think it does , great backdrops a la indiana jones etc. good steady pace of action with characters we already know.
Whats not to like !!!
Brilliant Film!

It's an all-star cast but not an all-star film, in fact, it's only one star. Yes, it's that bad. The first National Treasure was great, but this has none of the excitement of its predecessor. The premise is ridiculous, the script is clunky, the comedy is non-existant and the finale seems to drag on for days.
We've seen it all before, there is nothing new to get excited about, it's predictable with a capital P. The only mildly amusing part I found was the mention of a US Coat of Arms, apparently 'an eagle holding a squirrel' - it was half an hour before I realised they actually said 'SCROLL' - the squirrel would have made it more interesting.
NATIONAL BULL - UNBELIEVABLE - OVER THE TOP - OVERACTING

Cage and Voight could not act to save their lives. Fun for the kids if they don't soon get bored with all the supersonic warp factor movement between places on the planet. I cannot believe that security can be that bad around Bucks Palace and the Oval Office. The acting was over the top and the storyline was pathetically limp.
Obviously this was made for the American market as they seem to believe that people can go to and from England at the speed of light.
Picking the name for the lead, Gates, did that have anything to do with the multi-billionair? The story was too slick and fast and it was though they were all working from a script, and they were.
Similar to the first one and that was well over the top as well.
Cage wants to get a new job, a new syrup and stop overacting as he is not at all funny.
