I don't understand the big problem that people have with this film. The first film I admit was very original and very tense, not to mention controversial and slightly depraved (all good things within a horror film I might add). Naturally, in a sequel, you need to push the boundaries further. When I read comments (and there are a few about this movie) that state the film wasn't 'funny', it just gets me angry. This is a horror movie, not a comedy. Violence is only funny when it is done badly, and although this film has it's moments where scenes aren't as 'realistic' as one might want to imagine, it has no way been created in such a way as to be viewed as comical.
All that aside, I think this film is an excellent sequel. Some subtle links to the first movie, but would also work as a stand alone (Similar to the Hills Have Eyes films). The violence and action is non stop, from start until finish, and some very imaginative death scenes are displayed. The acting isn't excellent, although rather impressive for a modern day horror sequel, and the 'hillbillies' are subtly and disturbingly effective in their manor and appearance.
In some ways, this film is better than the first, I felt that the first was a bit slow, with far too many scenes almost 'dragging'. This films pace was a lot quicker.
All in all, a very impressive sequel for modern day horror. Wrong Turn was a controversial film, and Wrong Turn 2 does not disappoint in pushing the boundaries to the limit. I would say that it is definitely on a par with the first, let's just hope that if they decide to make a Wrong Turn 3, that they can keep up the good work
not as good as the first

having seen the first wrong turn, i was eager to see the second. i was very disapointed. i didnt like the story line, thought it was disgusting with regards to the sexual reference... it just wasnt funny!! maybe 14 yr old boys would find it funny!!

I was a bit wary of this movie as it is a sequal but i wasnt dissapointed. there are plenty of gory scenes & the acting is done well. The only negative is that the storyline could have been better but defnitly worth buying
I liked this better than the first

But it's a different kind of movie. I think the achieved what they set out to do with this one. Which is cheesy gory fun.
If you are looking for a scary serious horror movie, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for one and a half hour of gory fun, I recommend this one. It was a positive surprise after being disapointed when I saw the first one
wrong turn - right buy

Haven't seen the first one, but watched it anyway because my girlfriend wanted to watch it.
I didn't find it very scary, but it had plenty of gory bits. Didn't really enjoy the storyline and found myself bored towards the end. Still a pretty decent film though. Worth a watch if you like your gore! I'd give it a 5/10.
A ENTERTAINING AND NASTY SEQUEL!

Number 1 DVD Reviewer
The original 2003 was a great little horror film, that may not have been original, but made up for it's short comings, by giving us some great flurry's of suspense.
This direct to DVD sequel is just as good, The film does start with a very nasty death, with a victime being split vertically in half. Then the pace of the film flags by the character/victims set-up.But once the killings start the film does really entertain. The film introduces more inbread mutants, similar to the ones in the recent remake of The Hills Have Eyes, but we get to see more of the bizzare family structure. The film also has some suprises up its blood stained sleeves, by tricking the viewer into thinking they know who will be the main and surving characters, only for them to dispatched in very nasty ways. There is also a great dinner table scene straight from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. As with the original movie, this film has robbed ideas from every cannibal/ inbread hilly billy hick movie from The Deiverence to The Hills Have Eyes. But this is still a very entertaing horror movie!
Decent
