This is Blade Runner: The Final Cut, Ridley Scott's definitive new version of his science-fiction masterpiece. This multi-disc Special Edition release will also contain alternate versions of Blade Runner: the Original U.S. Theatrical Cut (never before available in the UK); the Expanded International Theatrical Cut; the 1992 Director's Cut and an Extended Workprint. • Commentary on The Final Cut by Ridley Scott
  • Commentary by Executive Producer/ Co-Screenwriter Hampton Fancher and Co-Screenwriter David Peoples, Producer Michael Deely and production executive Katherine Haber

Documentary: Dangerous Days - Making Blade Runner - A feature-length authoritative documentary revealing all the elements that shaped this hugely influential cinema landmark. Cast, crew, critics and colleagues give a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at the film - from its literary roots and inception through casting, production, visuals and special effects to its controversial legacy and place in Hollywood history.

1982 Theatrical Version: This is the version that introduced U.S. movie-going audiences to a revolutionary film with a new and excitingly provocative vision of the near-future. It contains Deckard/Harrison Ford's character narration and has Deckard and Rachel's (Sean Young) 'happy ending' escape scene.

1982 International Version: Also used on U.S. home video, laserdisc and cable releases up to 1992. This version is not rated, and contains some extended action scenes in contrast to the Theatrical Version.

1992 Director's Cut: The Director's Cut omits Deckard's voiceover narration and removes the "happy ending" finale. It adds the famously-controversial "unicorn" sequence, a vision that Deckard has which suggests that he, too, may be a replicant.

Workprint Version: This rare version of the film is considered by some to be the most radically different of all the Blade Runner cuts. It includes an altered opening scene, no Deckard narration until the final scenes, no "unicorn" sequence, no Deckard/Rachel "happy ending," altered lines between Batty (Rutger Hauer) and his creator Tyrell (Joe Turkell), alternate music and much more.

This is one of the best boxsets Iv'e ever bought....5 different versions of the movie and hours of behind the scenes documenteries...cant help but think that if Ridley had done Minority Report (another Phil K Dick story) it would have been a 1000 times better than what we ended up with ....if only Ridley Scott did all sci-fi movies

This is one of those rare movies that never gets dated or even looks dated, it stays awesome the more you watch it! A very cool Sci-Fi with an excellent cast and a great story which has a double ending depending on which way you look at it. The visual style of this movie is amazing too! You must see the final cut version of the film as it has new effects and scenes added etc! A must own film at any cost. Plus on top of an awesome movie you get more special features than any film could wish for, giving you hours more enjoyment!!

Everytime I watch this it gets better and better.
Its a story (with a sci-fi backdrop) about life / the need for life with wonderful characters in a wonderful (if dystopian) world.
Then there are of course the incredible visuals that inspired many a sci-fi film made from then on, as well as an almighty soundtrack by Vangelis.

Truly brilliant film which as well as awe-inspriring is also deeply poignant.

The Final, Definite "Cross My Heart And Hope To Die" Version

The ultimate revision of this sci-fi classic by Ridley Scott has been a long time coming, but has it been worth the wait? Certainly (in its "final cut" version at least) the 'sprucing up' done to the picture and the sound have paid dividends, and the corrections to the continuity errors are welcome - BUT - the extended 'unicorn dream' sequence now makes even less sense than it did in the original "director's cut" and some of the inane 'cityspeak' dialogue added during the flight shots just plain irritates. I guess that I'm still a fan of the original "European" version of the film (complete with Marlow-esque voice over and 'happy ending'), so welcome the fact that it has been included here, along with remastered versions of the "USA", "director's cut" and (most tantalising of all) "workprint" versions. Excellent value for money!!
