True genius

This is possibly the best science fiction movie ever made. Harrison Ford was at the peak of his popularity when he made this film, the fact that it bombed at the cinema was down to the complex plot and quite probably, that fact that it wasn't a seat of your pants popcoen thrill ride, rather a measured, intelligent and moving story about life and death. Roy Batty's (Rutger Hauer) speech at the end is enough to make grown men weep anyway, made even more incredible by the fact that it was made up on the spot. And fans of I Am Legend should note, this film was an adaptation of the great book "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep" by Philip K Dick, it is not very much like the book at all and yet it is still fabulous.
As the aforementioned mess of a film I Am Legend will show you, they really don't make 'em like this anymore
Brilliant collection

I fell in love with Blade Runner some years ago. As a spoiled art film geek I tend to not like "great Hollywood films", however, Blade Runner is one of the few exceptions, with a great blend of noir and science fiction. Ridley Scott's direction here is visionary and immaculate. There are five different versions, all with new things to add. I still prefer the old "directors cut", but the new Final Cut was interesting, and I like to alternate which one I watch.
Anyone interested in documentaries and behind the scenes of this film need not look any further. Theres hours of material here to keep fans occupied. I wouldn't call myself a fan really, more of an admirer. The extras are well produced and presented.
This is the set might be a bit excessive for an average fan, who should go for the great final cut 2Dvd set. For fans however, this is the set you should settle on, until Scott releases the Final Final Cut 10DVD set in 2018.
Fantastic

A brilliant film that delivers something new every time you watch it, dark and sometimes haunting in its story this is one masterpiece that should grace any collection.

I was first introduced to Blade Runner in the early 90s, more specifically the 1992 Director's Cut. My love for the movie began right there and has continued to this day.
Seeing the Final Cut on the big screen at the end of 2007 was incredible and the DVD boxset presented here does the film complete justice. 'Dangerous Days' is an inspiring and mesmirising documentary which lifts the lid on the history of the movie and also puts a few of the long-circulated rumours to rest.
This is one for the true BR fan.

This has been well worth the wait and worth hanging back on buying any other version out before it on DVD. Over a period of a week I watched every version on the discs and all the extras and thoroughly enjoyed everything, especially the longer versions of the film and the main documentary.
As with any sci-fi film of this age, some of the future technology predicted hasn't happened whilst some is laughable and some fairly obvious stuff (even then) wasn't predicted at all but then nobody's perfect. The latest 5.1 soundtrack was every bit up to the quality of the new transfer so no gripes there on either count.
If you're already a Blade Runner (or Philip Kindred Dick) fan then get this box for 18 quid - don't even think of saving a few bob by buying any lesser version. With awesome packaging too, you just can't go wrong at the price of a single DVD.
Oh and take the time to read the book it's loosely based on "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep". There are quite a few major differences, in fact it's almost like reading another story.
SIMPLY THE BEST !!!!!

The last of the great 70mm analogue films and one that was well ahead of its time.
Initally slated at the box office with poor reviews, this film has matured with age,at the time "Cuddly" films were in with ET leading the way, this dark masterpiece was too much for some viewers/reviewers.
This is more than just a great film with every conceivable extra delving into its depths.
You really must own this version,it is simply stunning!!!
wow... terrific dvd and film.

This is a follow-up review as the film is a classic and possibly one of the finest sci-fi film noir films ever made if not the finest. So terrific film and the dvd is one of the finest yet made- visually the picture quality on this film is now fantastic and the very slightly changed special effects made the film look stunning in its new "final cut" form. Sound quality is quite beautiful with brilliant sound effects and completely restored dialogue. Best version of the 5 versions included is the "Final Cut" as it is not greatly different to he "Director's Cut" just better special effects and also more violence and also sligtly changed dialogue- for the better. Extras are outstanding with a nice intro by Ridley Scott before the final cut and also an awesome documentary. All I can say if you like films this dvd should be in your collection- I would give it a sixth star if I could!
Timeless Classic...ultimate collection

Good collection - incredibly comprehensive. however if you have already bought last years director's cut and despise the "voice-over" version you're probably better off with the two-disc "Final Cut" DVD which includes the documentary listed here. This really is only for die-hard fans who will eek all the value out of it.
Time...to buy...

Everytime I watch this it gets better and better.
Its a story (with a sci-fi backdrop) about life / the need for life with wonderful characters in a wonderful (if dystopian) world.
Then there are of course the incredible visuals that inspired many a sci-fi film made from then on, as well as an almighty soundtrack by Vangelis.
Truly brilliant film which as well as awe-inspriring is also deeply poignant.
