How often do you find the right person?
Once is the inspirational tale of two kindred spirits who find each other on the bustling streets of Dublin.
One is a street musician who lacks the confidence to perform his own songs, and thus works part-time helping his father, who runs a small, vacuum cleaner repair business, whilst he dreams of landing a record deal.
The other is a young mother trying to find her way in a strange new town. She works as a house cleaner in an upper-class residence and is struggling financially, yearning for a piano she cannot afford.
As their lives intertwine, they discover each other's talents and push one another to realise what each had only dreamt about before. Once is the inspiring story of their budding love for one another.

Found this film very boring, takes a long time to get into the story.. The characters themselves are very dull with not much personality! I never even managed to get the whole way through, overall a waste of cash!
Perfection. (If you like that sort of thing)

You'll note from past reviews that opinions are polarised on this film. There really is no middle ground. If you're looking for a quirky, edgy, heartfelt, genuinely touching film about the origins of love itself, which never even briefly descends into Richard Curtis levels of schmaltz but simply leaves you agasp at the succinctness with which it deals with the subject of meeting That Someone Special and the heartracing dizziness which ensues - look no further. If you're looking for car chases, action, special effects and babes, buy The Fast and the Furious instead.
BEST FILM I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!

What a film! The music in it makes it stand out as one of the most beautiful films i've ever seen. A down to earth storyline, about people, a great film without the hollywood glits a glamour is so refreshing.
If you have an appreciation for art, in song, story or style, this film is for you, some people can't get past the "shaky camerawork", which is just a part of the style of cinema and the story, they are watching. For what it is, it punches miles above its weight; simply because the talent displayed is unique and original and true as the actors are that musically talent which is astounding.
An incredibly well crafted film which I'm sure I could watch over and over again with ease!
