The Ultimate Bourne Collection (3 Discs)

All three of these films are absolutely brilliant. My favourite has to be Identity, but Supemecy and Ultimatum are still just as good. No other actor could play the part of Jason Bourne better than Matt Damon, he is one of a kind. Julia Stiles plays Nicky as a small role in the first two films and a large role in the third film, and she was terrific in these films aswell. The trilogy has other great performances from Franka Potente, Joan Allen, Brian Cox, Chris Cooper and many more. Director Doug Limon did an excellent job directing the first film, while Paul Greengrass also did a great job directing the rest of the franchise.

Overall these film are great, and I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good action thriller.

After reading all the reviews on here i decided to buy the boxset without seeing any of the movies before and im glad i did. All 3 are superb action that were almost perfect.

Although all 3 are great its between the 3rd and the 1st as to which is the best bourne film and i cant quite decide, the 1st was very original with superb acting and suspence. By the 3rd bourne film you know whats coming but the fight scenes are improved making them easily the best ive ever seen in a movie and the opening scene at englands waterloo train station was simply awsome!

To make this trilogy even better theres not much blood/violence or sex and swearing so you dont have to worry about your kids watching it or your girlfriend being disgusted at all the gore, though there are fight scenes bourne always knocks them out and doesnt kill.

Overall a must buy for any movie fan, i will be watching all 3 again, and again....

The first movie for me started off slow as they had to explain everything to you in as much detail as possible but still a brilliant movie with great stunts.

The second was brilliant absolutely loved it, love action films, love bond, love this!!

The third film was too good, everything really came together and tied up every last end that you had in your mind from the first and second movie.

Loosely based on the novels (with the same names) by Robert Ludlum, The Bourne films take the tired genre that is the spy film and give it a new lease of life. Using techniques that have become common in recent films, such as close cutting and handheld camerawork, director Paul Greengrass gets us up close to the action scenes in a way that no other film maker has managed to do so well since the techniques have been developed. In addition to this Greengrass stays clear from the shocking CGI that can be present in some modern films in favour of doing the action scenes the classic way by actually having his lead actor (Matt Damon) leap from buildings and drive around smashing the place up in a taxi, and the end result is that these scenes are a delight to see on the big screen.

The plot to the three films seems to follow on from one another and although it does not follow the plotline of the book entirely it does have the underlying mystery of who is Jason Bourne, as well as what on earth happened to him? Matt Damon as the lead was a good choice in my opinion. He isn't overtly good looking and doesn't stand out in a crowd but he sure can kick ass and could well be a spy for all we know. The supporting cast are all very well cast too - Julia Stiles, Franka Potente and Brian Cox spring to mind, while the locations are stunning. The underlying plot unravels at a fast speed, spread across the three films and many different locations before the ending in New York, which if I am honest was not what I expected however; the last scene with Bourne back in the water rounded up the series in a nice compact way that I don't think it would be possible to create another after that ending yet rumour has it another is in the works. It is hard to choose which one of these three is the best of the lot, but it is easy to see why these films were so successful and it just proves that violence in the film industry, especially a spy film, does not have to be excessive.

I think the Bourne movies are great, great acting and great stories, however I dont think this is the ultimate collection, for this to be the ultimate collection it would have to have 3 bonus discs one for each film and I just know it wont be long before the film company releases this. Save your money
