You will find that the true fan base of Battlestar Galactica will never admit that Galactica 1980 even existed or that it has anything to do with the classic series.

Also the only reason that the last episode is anygood is because all the episodes before it was utter drivel, and that it needed Dirk to give it some sort of credit.
Im a big Fan of Battlestar but if asked I will tell you that the Galactica 1980 had noting to do with the battlestar galactica series.

Only get this if you realy feel the need to have everything that is BattleStar Galactica.

 A new direction

If you believe the stories Battlestar Galactica was forced to change direction in its 2nd season, and this is what we got. Although Galactica 1980 doesn't quite hit the highs of the first season it is worth a look, there are some good moments, some good story telling, and even if your not a fan of the 1980 version, the final episode is pure gold!

 For The Fans Only

Battlestar Galactica 1980 is a show for the die hard fans only. I love the new show as I love the old show. In fairness to this underrated series it has some good points. The first three episodes are magic and a good yarn as the new heroes go back in time to stop Xavier, the new bad guy. Also the final episode which sees the return of Starbuck is a golden episode and really does credit for a climatic finale. We finally see what happens to one of the originals. Sadly the show isn't the same without Richard Hatch but for fans of the series it's good to finally buy the final 10 episodes of the original storyline on dvd.

Myself I now own them all with this one just recently added to my collection.

It gets a three star rating from myself simply for the die hard fans of the show new and old.

 Classic Glen Larson

For fans of tv produced by Glen Larson or fans of Battlestar Galcatica or new. Try this classic although not as good as the original. It holds up well.

Episodes such as the first 3 and Starbuck and Night of the Cylon are very good and could have been part of the original.

Worth the buying if your a fan. Don't buy and then complain.

This is made for new fans and old and worth a watch just don't take to serioulsy.

Oh Frak, what a shambles!!! Only one good epidode!!

I ignored the bad reviews of this and ordered it to complete my set of the original series. BIG mistake. This whole sries is absolute rubbish and actually painful to watch. VERY painful! What are we served up in this mess of a series? Flying motorcylcles, dodgy looking Nazi's, a group of scouts working on a farm, a baseball game and Vipers that turn invisible at every opportunity!! Absolute drivel from episode 1 to 11. But it does improve on episode 12 when Starbuck gets stranded on a planet with a Cylon. This episode is very good but is it worth buying a complete set just for ONE decent episode? I think not, unless you are a die hard fan or love this episode as much as I do. I am going to forget this even exists and think of episode 12 as a 'Lost' episode from series 1!!
I feel better already! You have been warned!!
