Mo has the special talent to bring characters out of books. One night he brings out three characters from Inkheart, a story set in medieval times and filled with magical beings; Capricorn and Basta, two villains, and Dustfinger, a fire-eater. However Mo is kidnapped and its up to his daughter, Meggie, and her friends to rescue him!

A fantastical adventure tale with a stellar cast, Inkheart is a treat for the whole family.

It makes a change that a film relies on good story and dialogue rather then special effects alone. The story is good and the leads really bring the characters o life, with depth and humour.

The cinematography is stunning as are the locations. Magical.

I really enjoyed this film.

 Boring!

I was looking forward to watching this, only to find myself halfway through the film wondering where is the magic and fantasy? I meen really all its about is the main character reading from a book when he needs help and people can just pop out of nowhere.

It has a good cast in this film, but i expected so much more, seeing as Lord of the rings and Narnie was released a few years ago, this should manage fantasy rather easy.

You dont see a fantasy world like enchanted or the 2 films ive mention before, instead you see actors running around reading from a book.

If your expecting special effects, i wouldnt bother, its just acting and yapping throught the film.
Sorry i know it sounds i have a vendetta against this movie, but all the hype about this film being magical is just rubbish!

I wasted my time and money on this. If you are unsure just rent it for a low price.

Another ok film which is VERY loosely based on a great book.

Helen Mirren as Eleanor made me very eager to see this. And it was quite entertaining. But far too abbreviated. And once again, the screenwriters have seen fit to 'adapt' the story in a way which significantly changes it. Inkheart is a big book, so it was always going to be tough to adapt for screen, and this does show.

That said, the film rolls along briskly, the casting works very well, the story it tells works, & a friend of mine who hadn't read the book LOVED it. So I think, like Eragon, it's a film best seen BEFORE reading the book. Now you've seen the film, buy the book - it's MUCH better!

So i watched Inkheart last night, i was looking forward to sitting down with a dominoe's and enjoying this magical fantasy!I was initially a bit weary of watching it because in the past i have found Brendan Fraser a bit like marmite, you either love him or hate him...this film is an exception however,he plays a good role and is more than bearable- i'd actually give this film a 2.5 (if it existed on here) because it isnt a terrible film but i think it was slightly rushed and could have been better.I think the idea behind "Inkheart" is fantastic and Iain Softley did a good job with the CGI and special effects involved in the production. Overall not a bad film with some good action scenes and a touch of subtle comedy-it would make a great family film but i am a huge fan of fantasy films and i think it could have been better in parts.

 GOOD FAMILY FANTASY FUN

Before watching this film i was unsure of it the trailers didnt look that good and Brendan Frasers last few films had been a little suspect.
But i was quite suprised by this little tale the story is very original i like the idea of silver tongues people who when they read aloud can bring people and things out of the novel but the downside is someone or thing goes in.The film has got a good cast Fraser is quite good in this film Paul Bettany was very good and Helen Mirren was suprisingly funny in her role,The film is enjoyable and a decent fantasy adventure worth watching with the kids as im sure they would enjoy it and all together not a bad little film.
