Christina Aguilera: Back To Basics - Live And Down Under

I went to see this in Newcastle last year - (this in Australia but she kept same format for each performance) and it is nothing short of spectacular. From the cabaret style first disc of Back to Basic to the full blown circus extravaganza of disc 2 of her album and with her fantastic live voice this is not one to be missed!

I bought this DVD because it seemed so good from all the highest rating everyone is giving it. I buy most of my DVD in this manner but it is entirely not fair because you just a fanatic fan of any singer even if it is not that good, you rate them with the highest star-rating. This DVD is good but not beyond of this world. Please be fair and judge and give rating in the proper way. Thanks.

I had the 'Back To Basics' album on pre-order from Play for months in advance of it's release. It was one of the year's most anticipated records and it really disappointed me. The singles which were released were amazing, the best songs on the whole album. The concept, yet unique, appeared as a vague selling point - I felt many songs didn't connect to the image Christina was trying to communicate.

I'm a huge fan of concert DVDs, more so than movies and TV series box sets. I have owned Christina's 'Stripped' tour DVD in the past and although 'Stripped' was an amazing and ground-breaking album, the tour didn't live up to the same hype. However, this time around I feel that the tour for 'Back To Basics' is far better than the album. Watching the songs be performed and seeing the concept of the album come alive made me love the songs I'd dismissed as not so good in the past. It has made me break out the album once more and now I have something to connect to and a reason to enjoy the art that Christina created.

In the DVD extras there are interviews with Christina and Jordan, they openly admit that they were pregnant with baby Max at the time the concert was filmed in Australia. Christina was visibly pregnant during the concert and you could see little things happening to ensure her safety such as the help of dancers while walking down stairs - it was lovely, but she didn't hold back on her performance.

Despite having a new husband and baby, Miss Xtina still manages to pull off a great show without the need for rehab, custody battles or drugs, unlike some fallen pop princesses we know. A brilliant look at Christina's tour and how she gets there. Good stuff.

She's the best performer of the new generation.

B2B made her more mature artist and this DVD proves it. The circus theme makes the tour even more amazing and spectacular than an ordinary concert.

A must for everyone's collection. Whether you're a fan of Christina or not, this will entairtain you a lot.
