Obviously, this is going to be a very emotional dramatisation of the events of 1972, but unless you were actually there, you need to read Lord Widgerys report (1972) and watch this film before you can formulate any valid opinions as to why this horrific incident occurred.
The report and the film will offer different viewpoints as to what actually happened and why, but the prevailing circumstances, and the lead up to this event itself is complicated and something that Academics have written volumes about
(and therefore, one should take the time to study)
...but suffice it to say, from this point on, the troubles in Northern Ireland were exponentially increased to a historical level of carnage.
Excellent!

A very good, accurate depiction of the events of that infamous day. Good acting from all cast members. A particularly moving performance from James Nesbitt. Greengrass has out done himself here. The special features are also worth a look in, and reveal that the soldiers in the film were actually cast from ex-soldiers who had served during the Troubles.

i have wrote a S.A for it in history and it is a contraveshal so it should be a good film if it shows both side of the story and not that they attacked us first or we just went and shot them.
