Emmy® Award-winner Kelsey Grammer is Frasier - the hilarious psychiatrist first seen on TV's Cheers and subsequently the star of this smash-hit comedy series.

In Season 8, wedding bells chime a sour note when Daphne (Jane Leeves) flees her marriage ceremony to run off with Niles (David Hyde Pierce), and the two lovebirds - as well as a hapless Frasier - ultimately find themselves embroiled in a lawsuit as a result of the marital mayhem!

Frasier also seeks the wisdom and advice of an old college professor, whom Frasier drafts as his "professional mentor." And new-puppy training quickly goes to the dogs when Roz (Peri Gilpin) brings home a new Dalmatian and Martin (John Mahoney) takes command as the puppy's official trainer. It's 22 cupfuls of Seattle's funniest, most flavorful blend - Frasier: The Complete Eighth Season!

I came to be a fan of 'Frasier' in early 2007, after the series was canceled after 11 years (that's legendary for a sitcom, especially in the US.) and I never had anytime for the show back then, but one day I decided to give the series another chance by ordering Seasons 1 - 4, and from the pilot episode I was finally hooked; so I'm now collecting all 11 seasons (I hope seasons 9 - 11 are released real soon, I mean it isn't like the series still running, hurry up and release the box-sets!). After watching Season 7 and seeing the Daphne/Niles saga semi-conclude with both of them confessing their love for each other, I was, albeit, concerned whether seasons 8-11 will uphold the strength of the series, so far, Season 8 does not disappoint one single bit, you'll love it, hilarious!

There is no doubt Frasier is one of my favourite shows of all time, but I really felt by this series it was slowly losing its spark. There are some gems of episodes within this series but then there are others which drag, so its a real mix.

The romance between Daphne and Niles is put on somewhat of a hold as Daphne gains too much weight and leaves for a Health Spa (as a cover for Jane's pregnancy). This means more interplay between the brothers and their father which in some cases is good but in others bad. Roz is still having a sad time in love as is Frasier, but these episodes are some of the better ones.

Overall, it is still a laugh out loud season of Frasier, but some of the episodes are not quite as memorable as those in previous seasons.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars The weakest season

Season 8 of Frasier is, by any measure, the weakest; not surprising as two of its greatest writers - Joe Keenan and Christopher Lloyd - had left and would not return until the final, glorious Season 11. But this is Frasier, so even under par episodes are funnier than practically anything else.
