Maybe not the most groundbreaking anime ever released, Witchblade is nevertheless an interesting and enjoyable series which gets better as it goes along. The animation and artwork are pretty good, and although the story is fairly standard anime fare, its involving enough due to the characters involved. Although sometimes a little over the top, the series doesn't take itself too seriously. The extras on the DVD are fine, and special mention should go to the song over the end credits which is particularly good. Probably not for everyone, but there's plenty of action, and the main character frequently spends time wearing very little - which can't be a bad thing!
