Kylie Minogue joins David Tennant for the spectacular action-packed Doctor Who: The Voyage Of The Damned!

Moments after leaving Martha Jones behind on present-day Earth the Tardis collides with the bow of the Titanic. The Doctor quickly discovers that it isn't the famous ship, but a starship operated by an alien cruise line, currently enjoying a voyage to Earth to experience the Christmas holiday.

On board The Doctor meets a waitress called Astrid Peth (Kylie Minogue). Together they battle against saboteurs and robotic angels armed with killer halos in an attempt to divert the Titanic's collision course with Earth. It's a race against time as the Doctor and Astrid lead a small, brave and strange band of survivors throughout the devastated vessel. But can the Doctor get them all to safety in time?

Although the previous two Christmas specials were good, this one really feels like a stand alone movie. The effects seem to be a notch above those in the regular series and the sets give a somewhat grander scale to the proceedings - no longer is The Doctor reduced to running around corridors and hiding in air vents. There aren't any stand out moments in the script as such, but the performances are good - and the plot and action reach a satisyfying climax, unlike the somewhat cop-out ending of series 4.

 Formulaic rubbish

A total waste of a good premise and a good cast. The new Who is usually better when it's not written by it's saviour, Russell T Davies. He's a good writer, especially when it comes to comedy, but just can't write good science fiction to save his life, and if he keeps churning out this repetitive, formulaic vomit, then he's in danger of killing off the wonderful thing he did so well to revive.

RTD, please give your ego a rest and stick to the producing and the PR, and let the more imaginative writers get on with the job of keeping Who fresh and original.

upto the usual standard....... i.e. brilliant

the doctor is back to his usual tricks and i cant imagine xmas anymore without the doctor around
the story picks up immediatly after the 3rd series (or the children in need special) ends, and tennant is upto his normal Doctor self and with a star cast it makes for excelent viewing

my only vice would be to hold off until the 4th series boxset comes out because it is likely to be on there... but if you cant wait, get it bought

trully awesome an epic inside an epic!!!

the christmas specails are getting better and better pretty soon they,ll be standing out from the main serise alone.. specailly ths one kylie oozes her usual sex appeal and works extremly well with tennent who is also utterly brilliant in this masterpeice.. doctor who is never afraid to poke fun at its self and there are numerous occasions in the feature lenght tale that highlight this!! some stunning set pieces ... and a few excellently casted roles make this a joy to behold and once purchased will be treasured in any collection..... enjoy....

 Good Stufff!

this is your typical christmas episode of doctor who, i really enjoyed it and found it entertaining to watch, kylie minougue can actually act and shone in her role as the doctors temporay sidekick. however its not worth buying on DVD so dont waste your money. it was good at christmas but whos wants to watch something christmasy any other time of the year. spend your money on the series of doctor who its worth your money ..
