The best way I can describe 'The Street', is 'gritty northern drama'. The programme makers really do handle some delicate subjects in a way, rarely seen on TV.
My favourite episode was the one with Timothy Spall as lead. Very rarely do we see such great acting from all the main cast, along with such a strong script.
Several serious subjects were dealt with in this episode. Cancer, finances, relationships and love. All done so well.
Very moving.
Well done Jimmy McGovern, BBC and actors.
All six of these were brilliant.
A must see.
