This film will split the opinion of the viewer, some will find it fascinating and gripping, whilst other will find it dull and drawn out. The latter could be due to them thinking they would be getting a dark thriller in the mould of Silence Of The Lambs or even Director Finchers earlier SE7EN. But the simple fact is that this film is baste on the actual investigation and events surrounding this long killing spree. On this the film bombards the view with so much information, and images the film has to be watched more than once. The first time the viewer will be mesmerized, buy the performances but on repeated viewing the full texture and information will be absorbed, making this one of the best thrillers in decades. This is the directors cut, but to be honest it only has four minutes added. So why buy this of the previouse one disc version released last year just for four minutes? This is because the added bonus features including brilliant chat tracks, and amazing documentaries about the killings, that feature the surviving victims and the investigators. From all this you will be amazed how director Fincher managed to get the film so accurate.
This is a truly classic film, that is so good I ended buying both versions. But if you have not already bought the one disc version, then this is the version to buy.
Shocking, Insightful, Gripping and a modern classic.

Great movie, thrilling & shockingly realistic. Fincher has done it again. Brilliantly captures the time period & tells a fascinating account of the case of the Zodaic killer. But why are these people reviewing it badly on the basis that there's not enough Jake Guylenhall or not enough action.....please! It's a true crime story - an accurate one you morons!

Very enjoyable and intelligent film from a fanatstic director (David Fincher - Fight Club, The Game, Panic Room and Se7en) and brilliant cast. Yes the film is longish, but you have about 20 years of investigation in there, so the extra half an hour is justified. The story is Scary, Frustrating but above all very well told. Leaves you feeling sad at the end tho. Acting was first rate, Jake Gynelhall was fantastic, starting off in the background and then holding it all together, Downey was Excellent as usual, but particularly enjoyed Anthony Edward (ER) and Mark Ruffalos Performances, and Eric Roberts is turning into a very good charcter actor. Highly recommended, best to watch when you wanna be challenged a little

 first star i see tonight.
