I really loved this film. Minimal soundtrack adds to the atmosphere but doesn't detract from the film's substance. Says so much about human nature and compassion. Also makes you think again about thinking of someone as weird, crazy or just troubled. Lovely lovely film. Can't wait until it's available to order.

This has to be one of the best films I have seen in a long time. Being a fan of Ryan Gosling, I bought it and but didn't really think it would anything special...but this is a hidden gem. The whole cast are brilliant and it's such a touching film. Watch it!!!

A brilliant film very orginal, everything in this film is great. Not to be missed, Dont go by Dan's review as he gave 4 stars to a film with stone cold steve austin and vinnie jones. Lars and the real girl is a hidden gem... Unique in this day and age...

This is one of the most lovely films I have ever seen. Obviously don't think you're going to love it if you're into films with car chases, hot girls and stuff that blows up but if you want a really good indie film, this is it.
The cast is perfect, with Ryan Gosling the perfect choice for Lars. The film takes you through Lars' personal journey with ultimately a happy ending. Make sure you have your tissues ready, it doesn't rival the notebook but it's close!

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Not my type of film...

A film about a middle aged man, who is scared to let people touch him, and who shows no emotion...his interpersonal skills are non existent until one day he meets someone, unfortunately for those around him that someone is a life size doll whom he believes is real and the people around him must adapt to this...sadly not my type of film and it really did leave me thinking who would actually watch this crap and be pleased after doing so, I found the film wierd and hope to never have to suffer anything as bad for a long time to come.

What a beautiful film, I saw this (twice)on a flight from Singapore to Manchester and thought is was superb ! A very gentle soul Lars is looking for love and finds the love of his life in Bianca who he meets on the Internet. This film is like no other, the acting by everyone is superb esp Gosling. I cant wait for this film to come out on DVD !!
