A crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another, if they want any chance of returning home.

I watched this drivel just before xmas,as once again i listened to the hype. This is such an insult to anyones intelligence to be honest, and if i saw it at a car boot sale for 20 pence i still would not buy it. THis was merely a huge P.R exercise and acting platform for Will Smiths son. The plot was laughable, and what got on my nerves was Junior running around bleating throughout most of the film. More Hollywood garbage, and i wish i could have actioned a refund. AVOID.!!

Possibly the worst film I've ever seen

Putting it as simply as I possibly can, there is nothing good to recommend about After Earth - it really is that bad.

M. Night Shyamalan's career has plummeted since the early days of Sixth Sense and Signs and his films have gone from bad to worse, with this being easily his worst film.

In the ultimate act of nepotism, Jaden Smith is cast alongside his father even though it is evident he has zero skills as an actor and he is incapable of carrying the film. The script, the direction, the acting.......everything about this film is lacking.

The only one who could have saved this debacle is Will Smith, but he is given nothing to do other than sit around looking glum. It is somewhat ironic that one of the most charismatic film actors of his generation is playing a character with absolutely zero charisma.

In summary, do not buy this film - unless that is you enjoy wasting your hard earned money.
