Pretty Damn Good Action Movie from the EARLY 90's

Most action movies from the early 90's have dated quite badly but this is not one of them, released in 1991, i watched it in 2008 and loved it. I remember patrick swayze as the rubbish guy in dirty dancing and ghost, but he is the dude in the movie. Keanu revees is also very good. Action fans shud give this a shot, won't be dissapointed.
The only film about surfing that won't send you to sleep. Inbetween wetsuit shots we get skydiving and people jumping over fences. Presumably this is back in the Top 10 due to 'Hot Fuzz'.
one of the greats

quality film, i just want to watch it over and over again. some of the acting isnt world class but it doesnt matter because its just a totally bodacious, most triumphant, adrenaline filled film dude. made me want to go surfing.
100% PURE ADRENALINE!

Top 10 DVD Reviewer
This is a much under-rated blast from the past, that has stood the test of time, and is still as fresh and exciting now as it was way back in the winter of 1991 when it was released in the cinema. This is still Keanu Reeves best film, as it blasts the over-rated Matrix Trilogy and the silly Speed off the map! and is up there with Road House and chick fick Dirty Dancing as Patrick Swayze coolest role.
The plot is silly as a gang of surfers/ adrenaline junkies lead by Swayze, rob banks dressed as the ex-presidents to get cash to follow the summer and surf around the Globe. Reeves a rookie FBI agent who is "young dumb and full of cum" is assigned to infiltrate the gang and bring them to justice.
But wait a minute, have I seen this film before? The answer is yes! This film was copied almost scene for scene by the equelly silly Fast and the furiouse.
But Point Break being ten years older the Fast and the furiouse is still far better. It may have a silly unrealistic script, but the action is breath taking and the film is shot with jaw dropping style, Just watch for the house to house chase on foot, or the brilliant breath taking sky diving sequences.
So if you want to experience one of the great guilty pleasures, and one of the ultimate adrenaline rush's in the cinema for the past twenty years, buy this movie now.

A film you can stick on your rack and each time you look at it you are tempted to watch it.
In my opinion the acting isn't top notch stuff but who cares it's got a good storyline and a cool surfers image.
A must see!

The plot centre's around Keanu Reeves character:who is a hotshot rookie FBI Agent fresh out of quantico. He is partnered with a older cop played by Gary Busey who convinces Reeves to go undercover and try to infiltrate a surfer gang who he believes is responsible for a spate of bank robberies. What Reeves begins to realise as he befriends the leader of the surfer group(Patrick Swayze), is sometimes loyalties can be tested. With a fantastic soundtrack and excellent performances from both Reeves and Swayze this movie deserved more critical acclaim then it was given.A worthy one to add to your collection!

This film is the best film of last century it blew my mind, it kept me waiting to see what would happen at the end of the film.
No film before or since has been able to get anywhere near the physci and way of life for surfers.
A great storyline, believable characters, and lots of action. Gary Busey provides a nice bit of humour on the side and helps the plot along.
A great film, even if you're not into surfing, and a true cult classic.
underrated classic

Point Break is just an exceptional movie that just works. Brilliant stunts, bank robberies, a car chase, police raids, martial arts, breath-taking chases and brilliantly photographed surf sequences. An amazing script and great acting! It's just a must-have. Thoroughly entertaining and well worth it for such a great price!
