Hold on tight for a rush of pulse-pounding thrills, breathtaking stunts and unexpected romance in a film you'll want to see again and again. Keanu Reeves stars as Jack Traven, an LAPD Swat team specialist who is sent to defuse a bomb that a revenge-driven extortionist (Dennis Hopper) has planted on a bus. But until he does, Jack and passenger Sandra Bullock must keep the bus speeding through the streets of Los Angeles at more than 50 miles an hour - or the bomb will explode!

A high-octane chase of suspense, non-stop action and surprise twists, 'Speed' is a joyride sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

What a Premise for a Movie.
Bomb on Bus. Bus goes below 50mph. Bus blows up. Simple Excellence.
Speed is nearly 20 years old and still a brilliant watch.
The set up is done fairly quickly and the rest of the movie is a mixture of Explosions and Nail Biting tension.
Full credit to the Director Jan De Bont for keeping the Audience engaged all the way through, helped by a nifty little script.
This movie made Keaue Reeves the King Of Cool when it was released, and he is terrific in it. All Muscle and Buzz Cut. Lol
This was also Sandra Bullocks break out role, and she is Sassy, Vulnerable and perfectly cast.
Dennis Hopper and his Pop Quiz Hot Shot bad guy chews up his scenes with relish.
Somehow this little movie about a bus, which should have been a trashy low budget B Movie, manages to be one of the best Action movies of the 90s.

 It won't hurt, Annie...

Keanu Reeves' best film, Jan De Bont's best film, Sandra Bullock's best film. All in one fat BEAST of an action film!

Dennis Hopper's wicked as the psyochotic ex-fuzz turned bomber eccentric (not so much in his general actions, but his plots and plans are pretty eccentric/flamboyant), and Jaff Daniels is very good as 'the best friend'

Chuck a load of strangers on a bus, slap a bomb on the underneath, set a speed limit and clip a cool little theme tune in, and you're away!

Hands down, best action film of the 90's!

 what can i say!

Its a must wacth if you have'nt seen it before its got a good story, is full of action and has good acting. Its a film i wacthed quite a few times and is quite rewacthable.Dennis Hooper was a Really good bad guy and Sandra Bullock played the part of the woman having to steer the rigged bus full of explosives and passengers and she can't go below 50 mph or it will blow

 Pure adrenalin.........

16 years old and fresh as a daisy actioner that still puts some subsequent actions films to shame in it's relentless and satisfying adrenalin rush.

Essentially three action movies in one (the elevator, the bus, the train) linked by the late Dennis Hopper's out-for-revenge bomber the bus sequence is obviously the most famous and best section of the whole film.

Keanu and Sandra Bullock (in her breakout role) work great together and then first time director Jan De Bont keeps the action flowing perfectly. Top notch action!!!
