John Wayne plays Quart Evans, a rough, tough, womanising gunslinger and the revered ex-deputy sheriff of Wyatt Earp in Tombstone.
After Evans is wounded in a gunfight, a Quaker family take him in and offer him their humble hospitality. Their daughter, played by Gail Russell, falls for their tough but courteous guest and their attraction soon becomes mutual.
The film is brimming with action scenes but the peaceable theme of the film prevails. Wayne's ensuing relationship with Gail Russell was acclaimed as one of the best developed of his screen career.
The breathtaking landscapes of the Arizona setting also add a wonderful extra dimension to this cinema classic. Also features a biography on John Wayne and an introduction from Tony Curtis.
