Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC, ONE OF THE BEST CREATURE FILMS EVER I THINK

I first bought this film on video and I thought it was fantastic. The parts of gore, stunts and special effects are very good as well. The reason why I bought the film on dvd was because my video version has worn out and gone all fuzzy and jumpy. I am glad that I did because the dvd has a few extra features on it and the picture and sound is awesome. So if you like creature films then buy this one because it is one the best ever.

I was watching this last night. I think its a great movie the humor is great and the death scenes a to die for. There are bits I still turn away from after seeing it so many times

It's a Stephen Sommers film. If that doesn't mean anything to you, then just don't expect Citizen Kane... Brilliantly overblown monster movie with a wisecracking reluctant hero, cowardly sidekick, sexy sassy femme fetale and a whole bunch of bad guys destined to meet a wide range of sticky ends.

With its tongue firmly in it's cheek from begining to end, Deep Rising is an affectionate update on the creature-from-the-deep B movie genre. With laughs and shocks apleanty, a keenly observed story, lifts it well above it's lesser contemporaries.

A fine specimen of it's kind, well worth catching!
