The Shadow (Alec Baldwin) was once a vicious criminal who was captured by a mystic who taught him the powers of the mind to become the nemesis of all evil. Now, donning his sweeping black cape and disguise, The Shadow takes on his most dangerous nemesis yet: the last descendent of the great Genghis Khan whose weapon of choice is an atomic bomb.

With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, they square off for a spectacular battle in a dazzling mixture of mind-blowing special effects, humor and a dose of the macabre that will hold you spellbound!

I just can't understand why people don't like this! Alec Baldwin is just the rightr person to act here, he IS The Shadow. This is well done, costumes, roles, everything. Fun, exciting - everything that a good adventure needs to be.

The Knife, Bhurpa is a cool thing - I do have one, have had years and so far it hasn't started flying around and biting me! If it ever does so, I send it back to the shop where I bought it.

Enjoy the old-fashion adventure!

If Sam Raimi had gotten his hands on the film it would of been something of note(He made darkman instead). What it is though is a fun, action filled adventure with Baldwin looking broody and is a great switch off your brain sunday afternoon flick.
Try not to think of Batman as you watch it as The Shadow character was around a good 7/8 years before Batman was created and was the most famous pulp hero of the time.Fun basic adventure flick with a character begging for a better film and script.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Awesome, provided you can accept the taste

Not Batman. Not trying to be Batman. A super hero film based on a comic that has a main character who isn't 2dimensional, doesn't mean it's trying to be Batman.

Cheesy but not terrible hammy cheese, cheese that deliberately suits the time period the story is set. Also the style of the whole film (including the cheese) is Really comic book but Very well done for film! Well before Sin City was even thought of.

Class acting all around, but in any film two very underestimated things Make it what it is.
1. The main bad guy. Really well acted, great character, not just 2dimensional (same as the hero,) you hate him, you fear him, you kinda like him (provided you're the kind of person who can actually get into the spirit of a superpower film.)
2. The sub characters. Brilliantly played victims, minor bad guys, lackeys, girls, informants, and Tim Curry's slime ball is excellent.
