Ave Ventura (Jim Carrey) is the best and most exciting pet detective around, well actually he is the only one that there is. At Dolphin Stadium, the mascot of the Miami Dolphins Snowflake is kidknapped in the middle of the night two weeks before they are due to play in the final of the Superbowl. So can ace save the day and find snowflake? Jim Carrey as always plays this role to the best of his ability and his acting cannot be faulted here.

Undeniably juvenile, but funny and entertaining. Carrey is goofy, wildly eccentric and fantastic. Diehard Jim Carrey fans will really enjoy the silly humor of this fime.Others will probably find it lame and tiresome.

Jim Carrey is a true class act in this film as he in almost every other of films. This film if funny from start to finish and you can never stop laughing, it has a good cast and a brilliant script. The plot is hillarious and a bit far-fetched at times but that makes it all the more funnier.

One of the greatest comedy films available out there, with a mixture of one of the greatest comedy actors ever and brilliant standout scenes, this film is amazing. There is no other word to describe it. Jim Carrey shines in the role of Ace Ventura; almost like he was born to play it.
With one of the funniest parts in a film ever, were Ace is in the mental instituation (Particularly as he tries to squeeze into a box) this film will keep anybody laughing for a long time, it is an amazing amount of fun. If you are a comedy fan this must be in your collection, if it isn't then you should be ashamed of yourself. One fantastic film from one very unique actor.

Jim Carrey's Hollywood debut and indeed the role that launched him to worldwide fame both come in the form of this 1994 smash hit comedy.
With the likes of The Truman Show now under his belt Ace Ventura Pet detective is no longer one of Carrey's finest works, but it is without a doubt among his funniest.
The story isn't any great shakes and the supporting cast aren't great (look out for Courteney Cox in a pre Friends role) but none of that really matters thanks to Carrey's zany and often gut wrenchingly funny lead performance. It's likely that the film's best gags are due from Carrey improv but I do think its worth comending the screenwriters here as the film has been blessed with a solid script to begin with.
There will be some who won't be able to tolerate Carrey's hyper kinetic performance but for the undoubted majority outside of that grouping this is a must have DVD. Pity about the lack of bonus material though.
