Top 100 Electronics Reviewer

caught this last year on uk tv history channel thought it would be one of those daft 70s series but i ended up watching it every day it was brilliant good story lines good acting the full box set is expensive but worth the money for a series that most people havent even heard of when you think all those years ago people risked there lives to save british airmen very brave people from the germans how lucky we are today if you get the chance to watch it give it ago

 A classic drama

This is quite simply one the of the greatest drama series ever produced by the BBC. Pushed into obscurity by the dire Allo Allo parody, this is required viewing for any fan of intelligent Drama. Telling the tale of a Belgian escape line which rescued and repatriated Allied airmen during WW2, each episode stands as a great tale in it's own right but also advances the overall story. Cast and acting are superb and each character changes and develops over the course of the three series, some changing quite dramatically. The German characters are particularly impressive and are explored in a detail rarely seen in WW2 drama.

If you haven't seen this yet do yourself a favour and get the full boxed set of all three series.

An absolute gem.

One of the best WWII Dramas available

Buy it! You cannot regret it . This series is simply outstanding.

I remember being captured by it when I was a teenager when it first came out . I longed for the boxed set for several years recently, based on those memories, but I always hung back from purchase, fearing that my memories were rose-tinted.

Far from it. This series is better than I remembered, probably because now I have a better understanding of the history than I did as a teenager.

They capture the chaos, the confusion and the pathos of occupied Europe, where the boundaries between friends and enemies, civilian and military, moral and immoral, were often indistinct and confused, perfectly.

I cannot reccomend this highly enough. I simply love it.
