Aaaaah Lord of The Rings... What else can I say?... Apart from explaining in detail how you really, really have to buy this set. Now, I know it's not blu-ray, but does it really matter. These movies are unbelievably, mouth-wateringly amazing! You must buy this, I got it about 2 years ago and still have it permanently sat by my DVD player ready to be watched constantly. The extra scenes just add more awesomeness to it (I know, I didn't think it was possible either). All of the other extra stuff included are really great and the films just speak for themselves, so buy it, and listen to these masterpieces. Please buy it, for your own good.

the lord of the rings is my all time favourite movie of all time!! Peter Jackson puts blood and bone into making these films, and by god does he pull it off. They said it couldn't be done, but didn't he prove them wrong? And this boxset is a must-by for all LOTR fans, there's about 2 hours more put in the film, and the extra features on here, are unreal! it shows you everything, from featurettes to interviews to the still gallery art showing how they put the film to the big screen!! in short best film ever made, best dvd features to be put on DVD!! a must -by!!!!

Great movie! Can anyone confirm me if this box as Portuguese Subtitles? Only mentions English, but as it's a special edition maybe it has!

so much better than the normal ones, the only little downside is that they are a little long, but however these extended movies give away so much more that wasnt in the others, and it makes the films better to watch, because theres lots more in it, plus you get to see saruman die, and also the bonus disks are really cool, i spent hours watching them create it, and it was worth every minute of it!
i definitley reccomend buying it.

These extended editions are excellent. They explain the story more and give better insight into what might happen or what is going on at the current time. I do question why the original films didn't include some of the footage though. These films are epic, they are more of an event than a film! The action scenes, the chases, every thing about these films are breathtaking! Cant wait to see 'The Hobbit' when its released. Peter Jackson has laid down the gauntlet of how to make a fantasy trilogy with style. 5 Stars pure brilliance

This movie is fantastic. The idea of an adventure in this case is marvellous. I would highly reccomend this film to everyone. One of the best box sets I have ever seen. Buy it! 10/10 - platinum level I would give it.

Good box set, Good Price. The Extended Edition gives a lot more information about the characters e.g. I didnt know Aragorn was 87 years old!
