Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother's affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica's plans for the future, Barb's young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail.

But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn't know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He's determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he's going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Ignore the low rated reviews for this movie as it is absolutely a return to form for the child's play series, any true fan such as myself should love curse of chucky, the last 2 sequels were great fun but this sequel takes it back to the old school roots of creepy with the doll picking everyone off one by one until its revealed he's alive once again! The story builds up well with some gruesome kills and very cool chucky doll effects, most of them are practical but some are CGI for certain things we haven't seen chucky do before like walking down stairs etc. The story does take the series full circle linking it to the original and other sequels, plus we get a few nice cameos towards the end, the ending is slightly confusing as there is a cool after credit scene which im not sure fits in but is a good nod for the fans, overall its really worth checking out if your a fan, its fits in so well with the rest of this amazing horror gem of a franchise.

really enjoyed it great film but can't beat the other Child's play classics though but it's definitely worth watching if your big chucky fan :)

The film still retains some of the humour that marks the series. Yet Curse of Chucky has decided to forgo the out and out laughs and head back to the darker elements that made the character so memorable.

Brad Dourif again marks his territory as the devilish voice of Chucky, but even more interesting is the performance from his daughter. Fiona Dourif's disabled protagonist is more than able to stand up to the might of the killer doll.

It is great to see the return of such a horror fave.

A horror icon returns and it's actually GOOD!! REALLY GOOD!

How many times have we waited for a horror icon to return only to be let down by the likes of Freddy, Jason and Michael. Chucky breaks the mould by returning with a reboot but continues his tale in a clever way that will draw in a whole new generation of fans.

Curse of Chucky puts Don Mancini back at the helm of the Child's Play boat steering both the story and direction in this brand new, wickedly scary tale.

It's surprising to say but Chucky is more relevant now than he ever has been and Don Mancini reminds us why we loved this icon back in the 80's and 90's. He's witty, he's sinister and he's not afraid to go after the things he wants.

A remarkably entertaining return for a horror icon with a chip on his shoulder. Relentless, Awesome, entertaining!

 Disappointing

Not impressed, such a let down from past films. Took ages to get into the film to make sense of any of it
