Top 10 DVD Reviewer

Sam Raimi's first studio picture is a great comic book film.
Liam Neeson plays Dr Westlake that is severley burnt, when a gang obliterates his laboratory. This is a brilliant identity swapping revenge film, with a load of pitch black comedy. The film is directed in style by Raimi using every camera angle he perfected with the Evil Dead movies. But it's the imagination that is used in the story that really impresses, if only other comic book movies showed so much artistic flair. The film is also violent, and Raimi has made a great rollercoaster with it's mid -budget.
A great cult film that is far better than the direct to video sequels.
If you have never seen it, you are missing a minor classic.

Starring Liam Neeson & Francis McDormand, Darkman tells the story of a scientist who is left for dead during a break-in at his lab, but survives to seek revenge...

Before Sam Raimi delivered the best trilogy in comic book film history with Spider-Man, he made this movie which shares alot of similarities with Spider-Man.

Great story, great direction and great acting - if you liked Spider-Man, you'll like this.

Not sure why it's an 18 cert, though. I thought Spider-Man was more violent...
