Outpost is pretty good low budget horror movie, that wears it's low budget on it's sleeve! But what it does manage to do with it's limitations is offer a very smart and stylish shocker. There is nothing new that has not be done many times before, but it gives good gestured nod to it's insperations. The set up is directly "B" movie material, with a disused SS war bunker holding the secret of a machine that can alter physics and matter, and make unkillerable super soldiers. Only thing is when the machine is started up, the once dormant SS soldiers come back from the outer limits, to carry on killing. This is done in great John Carpenters The Fog Fashion, with the undead Nazi's always in the shadows, or in the mist. The action is good, and convincing. It's just a great pitty as the budget limited the film to just being good, rather than great.
Try before you buy!

Deffinately worth buying for this price

This film is deffinately worth seeing if you're into zombie movies. It's dark and gorey, though lacks consistancy, as the so called 'zombies' seem to appear and dissapear as they please, more like ghosts.
That said, I've watched this film numerous times and have never got bored, so for this price I'd deffinately get it bought.
A bargain for any horror fan.

 Knows its limits...

Outpost is a film that knows its limits. Realising it has a low budget and an unoriginal story with unlikable characters it never the less tries to be as entertaining as it can. And to some degree it succeeds.
Youll find nothing special or original here. Youll know every plot element before it happens and the film is decidedly run of the mill and as generic as it comes. As others have said, it takes a LONG time to get going, and it would be worth it if there was a little more payoff. It doesnt help that you really could not care less what happens to the characters. No attempt is made to flesh them out and as a result a fair bit of the tension is removed as they get picked off one by one. The effects whilst workmanlike do nothing to enhance the film and the story is typical - Nazis experimenting with paranormal - hokum.
On the whole its worth a watch if not a purchase. If you go in with low expectations youll find an average at best low budget british horror film, Get a few drinks in, dont take it seriously and youll wring some enjoyment out of this bargain bucket flick.

 Very good

The reviews for this film were mostly negative but I still felt the urge to watch as deep down I felt that I was not to be disappointed. As a matter of fact as it turned out, I was not. I found Outpost an enjoyable movie to watch, it is not boring and has a good plot (nothing new but still good). There aren't any spectacular special effects but still it is a good film which I recommend.

I did not buy outpost from play, but it is one of the better films recently (I think). Yes its a bit slow at start (hence only 4 stars), but when it gets going, it is good. Its good to see a film that has gone back to basics, rather than using fancy special effects for simplicity.
