"First rule of gunrunning: never get shot with your own merchandise."

Based on actual events, this black action-thriller stars Nicholas Cage as international arms smuggler Uri Orlov with humble beginnings as a Soviet immigrant in 1970s Brooklyn, to his involvement in selling off the stockpiled arsenal of post-Cold War Ukraine to, among other top clients, the sadistic African dictator André Baptiste, Sr...

This looked like a sorry affair from clips just like some of Nic Cage recent films "Wickerman" and "Next" but this was pretty good. A vintage Cage performance with an engaging storyline makes this a very enjoyable movie. Cage plays an arms dealer who is being chased around by a cop played by Ethan Hawke, this is kinda like a documentary about mass arms dealing around the world and those who like an actionish styled film with a very detailed plot i think will like this. Enjoy

I'm not sure what has happened to Nic Cage of late. He has generally been a bit crap (see The Wicker Man remake). However, compared to the rest of his recent efforts, this film is actually really good. Cage plays an arms dealer who sort of has a mid-life crisis. The film charts his rise to become the biggest arms dealer in the world but also shows the reality of how guns can affect the lives of people in the Third World. It makes you chuckle but also manages to make you think about the consequences. Well worth a look.
