Jason Scot Lee takes the lead as The Legendary Martial Arts Master Bruce Lee in this biopic of his life from his humble beginings in hong kong ,to America where he bettered himself through education and started teaching his skills to others and where he opened his first martial arts school ,his talents were noticed by a tv producer and this launched him onto the small screen and later in to movies at the pinnacle of his fame he was taken ill and passed away . . . years later ,and he is still remembered through films and books and his jeet kune do is still being taught to this day . . Never to be replaced, but always to be remembered
dragon is a brilliant film about the life of legendary bruce lee.jason scott lee gives a brilliant performance as bruce lee and a brilliant cast of robert wagner/lauren holly make the film even better.the film has mixed reviews but i got to say this is a great martial arts epic and considering jason scott lee had no martial arts experience before this film just shows you what lengths he went to,to get the part and fitness levels were extremely high.fight choreographer john cheung who plays the baddie who lee fights twice in this film does a brilliant job.there are some stunt doubles for lee but you can see he done a fair amount of his own fighting in the film.director rob cohen does a brilliant job.there is one down side to this dvd version is that it is cut by 28 seconds when lee takes on his demon which included nunchuku scenes.its about time they re-released this film uncut.overall brilliant film
As a massive Bruce Lee fan i have owned this film on VHS and DVD and never tire of watching this film.
The film tells the inspiring story of Bruce Lee's life rather than focusing on his mysterious passing in 1973, Many parts of the story of course have been changed for the screen to make it more interesting but his film is for me as inspiring as watching Rocky.
Jason Scott Lee is amazing as Bruce and i could not imagine any one else having played this role.
After watching this film you will be left feeling inspired and of course like i did you will feel the urge to delve deeper into the history of one of the most famous icons in the world of martial arts and a real 20th century icon.
This is a fantastic and exciting film, focusing on Lee's life rather than the mysteries surrouning his death. J Scott Lee is fantastic as Bruce. I do not understand how someone rated this a 1 star. It is on par with many other Biopic such as Malcolm X, Ray and many others.
It is a film I have watched time and time again, I do have all Bruce Lee films and this is a nice alternative, to look more at the man and not just his great strength (which is also portrayed here through films and fantastic fight scenes).
I saw this years ago and i loved it then, it was on tv recently and i mad time to watch it and i relized its a great film when you first see it but it gets better and better, the acting in this film is superb and this really is a great dipiction of his life, it shows us what we would of hoped bruce was like and it is just a wonderfull film, it shows moments in his life that you or i didnt know about its just a fantstic film.
this is a great movie, bruce lee fans will love this. Jason scot lee dose an amazing job portraying bruce lee, along with all the other great acting it really brings you into the movie! True story of the kung-fu king Bruce Lee that dwell not on his mysterious death but his inspirational life and improable rise to stardom from the streets of Hong Kong. Plus this movie has my favroite fight scene of all time! (the one at the restraint, so cool!) left a small lump in my throat at the end.
refering to "backinblacks" review, this is a MOVIE of bruce lees life...i think they have to spice it up a little or they might as well make a movie about your life!
