Over the past fifty years, thousands of people disappeared. On July 11, they're back...

Suddenly and inexplicably, 4400 missing people are returned all at once, exactly as they were on the day they vanished. Unnerved and unsure of the implications of this event, the government investigates the 4400 to uncover where they've been and why they've been returned. It becomes apparent that the individuals have not aged or been harmed in any way and have assumed paranormal skills that they did not previously possess.

The 4400 is a thought provoking and superbly constructed series of stories following the 'returnees' as they attempt to resume normal life once more. The dramatic content of each beautifully filmed plotline is enhanced as the discovery of abnormal powers in some of the people begin to generate widespread and unwanted interest, resulting in further alienation and trauma. A young man has the power to restore life or bring about the onset of death in people ; a young girl has the ability to see in to the future and a pregnant woman carries an unborn child that may unlock the secret to the universe...

Many people in America - and now The UK - are talking about NBC's "Heroes". It's a shame that this brilliant sci-fi show has been so constantly overlooked due to the fact that it is only shown on a cable channel in America and isn't watched by millions every week.
The pilot episode tells you of a few characters who had been abducted over the past 50-years. From a seven-year-old girl called Maia in 1946, to a teenage boy called Shawn in 2002. All at once they are returned by a lake in Seattle, and some of them are displaying some strange abilities. Maia can see the future, Shawn can heal people with his hands, and in the case of another "returnee" Orsen Bailey can kill with his mind.
An agency that is part of the Homeland Security is put in charge of investigating the so-called Forty-Four Hundred, with top agents Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris leading the way and trying to figure out why all these people have been returned. The first season will keep you riveted and the final episode in which the truth about where, and why, The 4400 were taken is a true nail-biter.

4400 is a REALLY ENJOYABLE series. It's similar to x-files in theme although more modern and has nonstop action. I ordered both series 2 and 3 before finishing series 1. BUY IT!

This first season off the 4400 is defently worth watching any x - files fans will love this it is compulsive viewing, it will make you want to go and buy the second season as season 1 is short only 5 series. The 4400 people that vanished and mysteriously all come back have strange things happening to them all have a differant storey to tell.
