How much blood would you shed to stay alive?

Two men (Whannell and Elwes) wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who's been nicknamed "Jigsaw" by the police because of his unusual calling card.

Given six hours, a hacksaw, and a bullet, the two men try to figure out a way to freedom. Hot on the 'Jigsaw's trail is Detective David Tapp (Glover), an equally insane cop who was once the victim of the Jigsaw's evil scheme.

One of the greatest horror films of all time!

When I ordered this dvd I waited eagerly for it to come, when it had been delivered and I had watched it, I could see straight away why it was so talked about. The story line for the film is brilliant and leaves you on the edge of your seat till the very end of the film. when you get to the end of the film its ends in a way that leaves you shocked, and wanting more. If this is your sort of film, and haven't seen it yet, I would strongly reccomend this film. Its superb.

One of the scariest films of 2004. A relatively simple yet extremely effective plot, it keeps you guessing and will make you look twice at your tool shed.

 Mindless gore

What a shame horror movies have evolved into a gore fest to shock rather than being genuinely frightening, utter pathetic, predictable and mindless, not a classic but an excuse to shock, no wonder crimes get more and more violent in reality with this senseless drivel.

 The beginning of a legacy

let me just start off by saying this film is not all torture and blood being splattered everywhere in fact this film has no more or even less blood than the average horror film (saw 3 is where it gets gruesome)

Saw is a gripping mystery thriller revolving around a serial killer which puts people in life threatening traps/conditions and forces them to make a choice wether to live or die. The traps are very interesting and cleverly thought out relating to each individual character (the traps are ment to teach them a lesson)

The majority of the film is built up of flash backs or of the two characters doctor Gordon and Adam trying to find away of escaping the room they have been locked in by the serial killer. The film is very clever and uses some of the same conventions of films like seven and silence of the lambs have used in the past making it very gripping and engaging.

if the intense roller coaster ride of trying to escape the trap isn't good enough for you then the amazing twist at the end should satisfy your film lover needs. Definitely one of the greatest twist in movie history leaving even the cleverest movie nerds surprised. Saw is a brilliant and unique thriller/horror film which i would recommend to any move fan. Give it a chance you wont be disappointed!
